Here's one more that didn't watch his presser. Check.

He was actually giving another coach and staff an opportunity to prove themselves. I dont think
winning was in the cards.

I did see the press conference where he gave his excuse for quitting and it sounded like pure spin to me. His apologists will see it your way but those who have taken note of his egocentric nature and complete lack of humility over the years will be less inclined to trust that he had purely selfless motives.

Jeez. So lying to recruits is A-OK with you huh?

Well I'm sure if he had known that would make UT fans happy, he'd have done just that.

This right here.. Haaaa.. He should've consulted all the Vol fans whose asses are still chapped over the many beat downs he put on us..

Great coach and colorful character... Period!

...or he could have just had the guts to coach out the season and ended his career on a 3 game losing streak to the Vols instead of acting like he had done Shawn Elliott a favor by passing the buck.

Carolina fans and players didnt have any problem with the way that went down, Spurrier did exactly
what he said he was going to do. I honestly dont know why some of you guys are so obsessed with
this thing. Oh well, what would the world be if we didn't have people simply parroting the crap they
read on the internet.

That's not entirely true either. The mid-season departure upset a number of fans that I know.

The people who think Spurrier is a coward for leaving mid season, do you also think Bob Knight is a coward? He did the exact same thing, so if you think Spurrier is you must think he is as well.

I always liked him playing the role of the snarky heel. On a positive note, there is still plenty of crazy left: "This football team is going to work awfully hard to earn their way... I like us, I always have." - Les Miles

You know a lot of SC fans do you? LOL

Actually I have numerous friends with ties to the state of SC, so yeah. Your premise is rather sound, but now you're just coming off as a pompous pr*** who should've came down off his pedestal about five posts prior.

Spurrier has earned every right to walk out his way and it's unfair to base as fact as to why he walked away how he did without first hand information from Spurrier himself.

I always figured I'd have to pay good money to see BOT and hoptown in an argument together.

Please keep going. For like ten pages.

Oh Wahhhhh!

I'm pretty confident in my position about SC fans since my GF lives in Sumter, is an SC grad, and all
of her friends we hang out with are SC fans. They dont have a problem with it, but maybe they
should read more rival fan boards to find out what an a$$hole Spurrier is for "quitting on his team."

Got it. Your gf's three friends didn't care so all SC fans don't care. Nice assumption.

I dont interact with her friends so much, their husbands is a different story. And college football is
about all I've got in common with those guys. But I'm only up there 18-20 times a year, I'm sure the
Johnson City pipeline is much more knowledgeable about whats actually going on in Columbia. Hey, can
you recommend some restaurants for me too? :eek:lol:

Johnson City is my hometown. it's not where I live. Maybe you should do some research.

wow so you really think both situations were the same? If thats the case, then that shows how much you know about them. Big differences between the two.

I dont care how many times his coached teams beat us. Spurrier is a quitter. Plain and simple. He is a great coach but a quitter.

For what it's worth I agree with you. He flat out quit on his team. Is what it is. Like there's no denying that fact.

It's amazing how people hold him in such a high opinion despite kicking you in the ribs at every opportunity.

Y'all plan on celebrating Urban Meyer's retirement as well?

I ask you to show proof that's what happened. If this is fact, there has to be absolute truth to prove it. Please show your proof.
