Wouldnt stop it at all. Probably would make it easier and worse.

$300 dont have anything on the $500+ handshakes that are going on now.
I disagree. Cheating would go on, but I think it would be less prevalent if the players had some pocket money on them. The way it is now, we're asking a bunch of poor kids, many of whom probably don't have much spending money of their own, to deny free stuff that's offered to them, and then we victimize them when they take it.

I'm not disputing that Spurrier enjoys the attention he gets with his one-liners. I just think it is a bit of a stretch to call this a stunt for attention. It was going to eventually be brought up. The fact that he was the one to speak his mind on it does not mean he was seeking attention.

it's a stunt to re-direct other's attention.

They know the rules. They know they are not suppose to take money or you would hear more about it. The NCAA has to investigate it for a reason

yes, he just happened to come out with this nonsense days after reinstating garcia for the 48th time. not calulated at all. he had no idea if the media would run with a quote from a millionaire coach who wants to take money out his pocket. he had no clue this would take the attention way from garcia. just happend to pop up in his mind right then.

People haven't stopped talking about Garcia. You have your head in a hole if you believe that. I wouldn't be surprised, though, as you seem to be uninformed about the situation.

The $300,000/year the coaches want to spend would be better spent, IMO, hiring private investigators to hang around their biggest rival's program. Catch players and boosters in the act, immediately expel the player, and I imagine the cheating would go away pretty quickly.

They could probably already do that. May have to deal with some Bruce Pearl treatment from other coaches, though.
