not very long. they are getting worse and worse. Taking a walk on qb to play UGA in Athens. Its amazing to see Spurrier teams have zero offense and not stop the run at all. They have 1 playmaker on O and while they are a little better on D they still give up 250 yards rushing every week. This weekend it may be 300.

Requires Jimmys and Joes to run the Fun n' Gun.

When I have watched the offense at South Carolina the last few years (even their 11-2 teams), I see nothing that reminds me of Florida in the 90s. Spurrier's offense back then was corner routes, fades and imaginative ball plays such as that Emory & Henry formation he ran a few times in '96. I'm guessing here but it seems like his failure with the Redskins changed his philosophy on offense.

Meh, I don't think that's the complete story. He ran that same offense at Duke with effectiveness. (the Duke team that beat us in '88). His philosophy changed when he returned to college from the NFL.

"Beating Butch Jones" isnt a goal of any coach worth a ****. Especially not a goal of one of the best coaches to coach football at this level.

Would you want to end your career 0-3 against a "gosh darn" piccolo player from the school band?

I think this season really dictates it. I mean, absolute worst case scenario I could see them lose to UGA, Mizzou, LSU, A&M, UT, Florida, and Clemson. If Spurrier goes 4-8 or 5-7 I could see him gone after this year. If he turns the ship around and they go 6-6 or 7-5 or better perhaps he treats next year as a wait and see year with the next recruiting cycle. If they lose to big to UGA this weekend I think the doomsday scenario is much more likely.

If Mark Richt and UGA have the chance to score 50 this week they will do so. Spurrier is going to lose his team Saturday I have a feeling. I expect UGA to go for the KO early.

Just remember how Spurrier's last home game at Florida went down and don't cross "Go out a winner in the Swamp" off your list either...

I think he'll stay for one more year. And I'll tell you this, we will ALL miss him when he's gone. Actually he might be more entertaining after he retires.

I'd love for him to go on to College GameDay or SEC Network and just kill it. Can you imagine an open forum for a guy with little to no restrictions or consequences?

"Herby, lemme stop ya right there all right?"

You mean the SECCG? Yes... while Spurrier was still trying to figure out why Guss Scott couldn't tackle Travis Stephens.

Yes, the SECCG where you guys crapped the bed, and haven't been nationally relevant since.

But yeah, UT beat us in 2001, so you've got that going for you. Congrats. :good!:
