Not wanting to derail this thread but you do realize that it is precisely that Zimmerman was under attack that provoked the use of his weapon, right?*

*This is the story being told, neither of us are any more privvy to the truth than anybody else on the board. Upshot, the points you try to make here don't relate to the cases you are using.

Zim was in a car and had a big pistol. Tray was walking and had candy. Zim would never have been in any danger if he had took his punk ass on to Target and simply called the police on Tray. Then the POLICE would have done their job. Tray's mom would have her baby (as long as he was not commiting any crime, which he was not). Zim would not be charged with 2nd degree murder (as I feel he should). I feel Zim went looking for trouble (not Trayvon) and he found a boat load of it. Upshot, **** off, whoever you are. :eek:k:

These cases are far from the same. One is a uneeded killing (Zimmerman). The other is a man protecting innocent citizens (the Utah case). You must be dense. Or just plain stupid. Both are unfortunate for you. I am sorry. I will keep you in my prayers.

(Sigh)
The boldened is very much going to be a point considered in how things are going to be presented with Zimmerman. However, when comparing the two cases in the manner you did in the earlier post it completely removed (at your personal discretion of course) that Zimmerman may in fact have been attacked. Moreover, I was even very careful to qualify my observation that whatever is being presented is, in fact nothing more than than that, the story being told. (unless you want to claim your omniscience at this point you know nothing more than the rest of us on the matter)

I'll reiterate, I've nothing to recant in specifically what I said though made sure to actually claim very little. You OTOH seem very content with what you seem to "know". Carry on then.

Funny how the people that want to hang Zimmerman overlook the fact he had just as much right as the kid to be on that street or sidewalk. If, big if, what is being reported is true that the kid got pissed and jumped GZ then how can it be murder?

That's one.

Shall we go look in this morning's newspapers and see how many were used in crimes? How many were involved in accidents?

Most states and municipalities went lax on gun laws in the last few decades, and murders/non-negiglent homicides have fallen from 9.8 per 100,000 to 4.8 per 100,000 since 1991.

Look in this morning's paper, and you're not going to find anything like that.

Interesting chart. I noticed that even though population increased by 22%, every classification of crime listed had a real number decrease even with the economy worsening during the last couple of years on the chart.
