Even if Stafford was a UT player, I would still call this dumb. This guy hasn't done jack crap to prove to me (or anyone else besides Detroit) that he deserves a 78 million dollar deal.

The crowd at the draft wasn't impressed with him either. There were a lot more boos than cheers when they announced his name.

Are we entirely sure the boo's weren't from his family in response to Detroit drafting him? :)

I always thought it was funny how people/reporters kept saying he is stupid for making the comments that he wants to go to the Lions and it career suicide....

I personally think he was smart for making those comments! Especially $78M later of which almost $42M are guaranteed! He is set for life if he can manage money and not blow it all. I could personally care less if I was the waterboy for Detroit in 2 years if I was him....

Who knows. Stafford might be able to work something out. He's got a couple of offensive weapons at his disposal. He's also in such a cesspool to where if he even breaks .500 in his initial contract he'll be deigned a savior for Detroit. It's sad when just winning a game is an improvement.

Stafford has a big arm and is going to be a big bust. Good thing he got his money early on
