Staffs Recruiting Strength

Totally agree. Sampson should be RB1 next season. If Wright can eliminate fumbling, he'll be RB2 imo. Small is more solid in pass pro than both and I believe the staff trusts him more, which is a legit reason to give him more reps. I think its obvious with our own eyes who is more explosive and has more burst.
No reason to rush Sampson as being the main guy.

Wright led the team in rushing and has shown speed and power.
Just keep the rotation as is.

In about 5 years....i do believe people will realize Small was more talented than given credit for. He'll be on an NFL roster

Agree on Wright. My thoughts on Sampson is more of a prediction based on his talent. He was one of the fastest high school kids in the country in high school and the staff has said several times how quick he's grasped the offense. He's flashed as much as any true freshman RB we've had in some time...It's only a matter of time IMO.

As much as I love Small and Ive definitely been wrong about assessing vols entering the NFL before, but I don't think he'll be an NFL back. He can be shifty and he plays with some power, but he lacks the change of direction and burst needed for the next level. With that said, needless to say, we're pretty solid at RB going in to a season finally.

So I'm not necessarily calling for a rotation change as much as I'm anticipating Sampson getting more involved next season, which means more carries. I think he'll take more of Smalls than Wrights. I think he'll be a homerun hitter and one of our best offensive weapons the next few years.

According to 247:

Nico - Halze

Leacock - Pope
Carter - BJM
Matthews - Martinez
Umarov - Elarbee
Gibson - Martinez
J. Smith - BJM

Conyer - Martinez
Slaughter - Banks
Johnson - Elarbee
Telander - BJM
Lang - Elarbee
Luttrell - Martinez

Bradley - Ekeler
Seldon - Pope
Davis - Golesh, BJM (S)

If you go by 247 coaching recruiting rankings:

- Willie Martinez
- BJM
- Pope
- Elarbee
- Garner
- Ekeler
- Banks
- Mack

These rankings are based on total points (just like the class rankings) and not player avg rating.

This staff has a lot of very underrated recruiters.
