Other networks have aired the remaining episodes of shows that were cancelled on like a Saturdays. I don't know if CBS has been known to do this though.

The final three episodes of the "first season" will begin airing on Monday, May 4th at 9pm EST. Still no official word if the show is getting renewed for a second season, but the announcement did tease "first season". No mention of "final season" or "series finale".

It's likely cancelled and they're just airing the remaining episodes. Though what might be mildly promising is that instead of airing them all on a Saturday like most do they're airing these each Monday for 3 weeks on May 4th, 11th, 18th.

Given the situation they couldnt not without a casualty, killing a defeated man is freakin murder. Maybe your confusing this with Dirty Harry.
I'll disagree with you its unlikely he survived but i could be wrong.
