Stand up Comedy Thread

Since you love him so much 😄

Check out his netflix series "The Cabin". The setup is sort of cheesy, but the accompanying comedians make it awesome. Joey Diaz and Bobby Lee are great in it. And when Pat Williams (Mrs Pat) runs off poor Kelly Cuoco...pretty damn funny.

I might be ok with him in that format. 60 minutes straight of just him doing his thing is not for me tho

The Caitlyn Jenner episode was cool too.

I know this is silly to even bring him up - but he was just before my time getting into stand-up, but I've been hearing more George Wallace on Sirius. His bits are fantastic. I'll just sit in my car after already getting home and parking, laughing hysterically and looking like a crazy person to hear out his bit.

Now I'm curious if he has any performances streaming 🤔

There’s a new Dave Chappelle show on Netflix. It’s not a standup routine, but a speech he gave at his old high school. Still entertaining.

Ron White is looking something else. Pretty good for his age and he's kicked alcohol. Good for him. It seems society is moving away from alcohol and towards more psychedelics, euphorics, mushrooms and ketamine and others for depression. Brave new world and it's about time.

Anyway, was never really a fan, but this puts him in a new light for me. Still has his typical wittiness.

underwhelmed by the new Bill Burr special.

I got like 5 minutes into the black and white one and turned it off. Haven't been tempted by this one. I still consider myself a big fan but after about 5 specials with the same guy, you get it. I don't care how talented they are, the jokes just don't hit the same.

I would reconsider.

I actually found much of the Red Rocks special hilarious. It's a little different feel from his older stuff (which he explains).

One thing for sure: nobody is safe from his jokes!

It doesn't help that what I see going around social media is the bit about WNBA players not having fans. The WNBA jokes are clever and I chuckle...but getting memed and passed around by d-bags who are getting off on winning the argument that girls' sports suck kinda ruins it for me. I can't think of a more pathetic thing to spend your time doing than trying to prove a point that girls aren't as good at sports and don't deserve better compensation.

You've kind of missed the point.. He doesn't actually go after female athletes. He goes after women in general for not supporting them. His whole point is that they would rather watch the Kardashians or the crazy housewives show, bitch about each other, and tear each other down than band together around their teams. Then, they complain because men aren't filling up WNBA arenas. It's actually a great discussion.

Watched the Netflix is a Joke hour long video they slapped together of the whole event. A few laughs to be had if you have the fast forward button handy to get past some crap.

I'm saying the people on social media meme-ing these jokes are using them in this way.

I remember when Huff wasn’t a social justice warrior.

You should probably try listening to the actual bit. He’s talking about how all the people who want them to make more need to buy their jerseys and go to their games if they really want to make a difference. He’s not just putting down women’s sports as you’re pretending

I didn't say that you waste of time.

I was criticizing people using his jokes, not him. You never get the point.

I love that distancing myself from douche baggery makes me an SJW.

I saw the Hodgetwins a few weeks ago. They were great. But their opening act, Chris Clarke really won me over. Hilarious.

NSFW warning, btw
