Stanford vs. USC

No one will ever be able to convince me that a guy in the WAC with a losing record took a bigger risk than we did.

If I'm not mistaken, we had a coach who has been very successful with high-powered offenses at a mid major school practically begging for the job. I have no idea why Hamilton decided on CDD, although he's honestly been better than I expected (not saying much).

so how many years do you have to be a head coach in your opinion before you can be deemed good or bad? how many losing seasons do you have to have before you can pass judgement?

Not so much about years as accomplisments. League titles and BCS games are a good measuring stick.

You should do the same! Great comeback, you got me there.

haha im not the one upset here...you clearly cant let the fact that kiffin ran off in the night go. its over and hes not coming back...the fact that you are so motivated to trash him on here suggests that he is worse than what we have now. so would you rather have a coach that leaves for his supposed dream job or would you rather have one that stays and sucks it up for 3-4 years? there are plenty of proven coaches in the world that tn could go after that would make tn what it use to be but instead we are some kind of coach farm system now? thats bs

Interesting to see Luck matchup against LSU/Bama if Stanford were to make it.

well thats something kiffin wont be allowed to have for a while..and to be honest that whole program might fall apart for a few years without some of those scholarships(although im sure the boosters will help one way or another) but i just dont see dooley having the fire tn needs to get the job done. we are at the point we cant beat anybody in the sec now.

No doubt in my mind that Dooley will not succeed at UT. Kiffin can start chasing bowl games next year, and I fully expect him to do very average while at USC. He is just a place card for now at USC.

As I posted last night.

Recruiting rankings, according to Rivals:

2007 USC #2, Stanford not in top 50
2008 USC #8, Stanford #50
2009 USC #4, Stanford #20
2010 USC #1, Stanford #26
2011 USC #4, Stanford #22

Great job by the USC staff! You've got Alabama-quality players, yet you just lost at home to a team with South Carolina talent! Again!

Miami could actually use him. He would be an instant game changer for them.

The Phins haven't had a QB that was even decent since Marino. Big gap from Cleo Lemon and Chad Henne to Andrew Luck. Add in changes to the front office and the coaching staff and Miami is probably on their way to contention.

Who was the mid major coach? I'm blanking for some reason.

I believe if they get Luck they will be one more step closer to the Marino days, if not better.

I would probably cry if that happened.

Lol. I actually hope it doesn't happen. I'm a Peyton fan, and I don't wanna see him leave Indy. I think they'll squeak out 2-3 wins and Miami will get him.
