my vote goes to greg adkins. i would love to see our o-line return to dominance
the one thing that opposing teams used to fear the most when they played tennesse
was our o-line. we would jump on them early opening up huge holes and setting up
play action. i remember opposing defences brathing heavy with hands on their hips
by the time we made to their 20 yard line that the endzone was but a play or 2 away.
and this was in the first quarter. so yes i would love to see a hot shot coach come
out of this season.

who would everyone else like to see have an impact year player or coach you choose?

If we are going with coaches, I have to go with Cut followed by Troop. Cut will add the discipline and concentration that we didn't have last year and, imo, Troop will help the WR's meet their hype.

As far as players, I will say Meachem(yek) on offense and McCoy on defense.

Eric Ainge

I know a lot goes into the QB position--receivers, O-line, running game--but his numbers, I think, will tell the story of the season and provide a pretty good guage of how all of those other offensive areas have progressed (or not.) If you start reading that Ainge has shed the Sophomore slump, it is a pretty good indication that we are on the right track.

Foster on O and Morley on D. Both came in highly touted (if you buy that sort of thing :p ) and showed up glimpses last year. Both break out and have huge years.

I think we have a bunch of players and coaches who can make an impact but when I am thinking about the season, Ainge is the one that comes to mind first for me.

Are we talking coaches or players??? Coaches I'm going to say Troop, if our recievers finally play up to their talent level it's going to be very hard to keep him with all the things he's done. Hopefully Fulmer will sell him w/ the idea of learning from Cut and one day taking over as OC. Players I would say Ainge will be the bounce back player of the year in college football and Meachem will have a big year and may jump to the NFL. On D I'll go w/ Robert Ayers at DE he is going to be very good coming off the edge. Oh and utvolpj Foster wasn't highly touted coming out of highschool. He was the #69 RB by Scout and #22 allpurpose back by Rivals. None of the California schools offered him a scholly which is why I can't wait to see him stick it to Cal. He's just one example of why rankings are an inexact science.

This has gotta be Sears year if we are to have a great season. He must be dominant in his position and anchor the Oline leading in a similar manner that Al Wilson did.

It would be nice if Ainge is the star on offense and Justin Harrell on defense. If Ainge plays well the other pieces will fall into place on offense and Harrell can be the rock for the defense.

Neither am I for next season, but Crompton hasn't taken a snap yet.

I'm right there with you. Ainge scares me to death every time he drops back, but I can't really say Crompton would be any better since he hasn't done anything except practice yet.

I agree with many others that on offense it has to be Ainge. On defense I think Robert Ayers is a star in the making. I watch him last year on speacial teams and spot duty at DE and he looked like a player :cross:

Special Teams, Honorable Mention O-Line and D-Line.

Ainge needs to be able to get comfortable in the pocket and our RBs need to be able to run free.

On defense, we don't have the LBs we did last year, so we need our D-Line to keep bodies off of them so they can fly around and make plays.

I don't think anything needs to be said about STs except that our players had better take it seriously this year.

I'm going to sum up the last 2 posts for you:

OL, DL, DB, QB, WR, ST

Or... close to everyone
