Star Trek 2009

Alright, I am not going to push this because I understand people have different opinions on things and I am not trying to just be a jerk, but I have to clarify what I meant because I don't think it is clear. I will try and leave some key words out so as not to be too spoiling.

"It's supposed to be different," sure. But if there is no [planet], there is no [planet's science academy] to fund the original individual's mission that created the time travel event, right? In fact, that character would obviously not even do that in this new time line, knowing what he knows. SO, how did [planet] get destroyed, then, if the original destroyer is no longer coming? It's an incomplete time loop, and thus can't work. If you make a major change in the past, you have forever changed the future-- so the original events that led to you being able to change the past is potentially altered, and certainly altered in this case-- and then the past won't be changed.

At any rate, oh well. I guess I am just a fuddy duddy.

:hi: I just tried to enjoy the new movie for what it was. Nitpicking "Star Trek" science got too easy over the years, and I finally quit doing it.

i thought it was funny when young and old spock meet up, and young spock is like well i think it will best for me to stay and help repopulate hahahaha,,, thats what my thoughts would be....

and what a body on that green chick,, good lord

best line in the movie spock to young spock "to do this normal would be self serving, so ill just say good luck"

The green chick was an Orion slave girl. They're supposed to be irresistible and have an animalistic sensuality.

it was also built on land, in Iowa. I don't buy that one for a second.

but, I still loved the movie.

This was a fun movie. I thought it was well done.

I am good at suspending my disbelief to enjoy movies such as this.

That is how she was built in the original series.

Hmmmm.....

So we are to infer that the UAW no long exists? Otherwise this would be completely impossible in the US, unless it is built at a non Union Toyota or Nissan plant. I'm not taking anything built in a Hyundai plant into space.

I always assumed they were built in space dock, and moved up material and components via a space elevator... hmm.

Saw it last night great movie....one thing I don't like about the new movies is that in fight scenes you can't tell what the hell is happening because it happens so fast and its all ways dark!

After my first time seeing it (my first time for any Star Trek), this movie seems on par with the best in science fiction: The Matrix and Donnie Darko. I'll need to watch it again to be able to say that more definitely.

I saw it mostly because I was stuck in Dickson for a few days and there's nothing to do in Dickson. I was blown away but I probably should have expected that with the rave reviews it's been getting.
