I saw it yesterday at midnight. It was very good. It is easily better than Episodes 1 and 2 combined. Obviously, there is no happy ending in this chapter, but it connects the dots very well and fills in all the gaps between 2 and 4. It sets up Episode 4 perfectly, and it's almost impossible not to want to watch A New Hope as soon as you get back from the theatre. It is very emotional and extremely stinging in some parts. I really don't know how to describe it, but it will really affect you in a few scenes. I won't say when, but those who see it will instantly know the different times I'm refering to.

There are a few problems I have with the film which are only problems if you critique films for more than just sheer entertainment value. The dialogue was awful at times and the acting was wonderful by some actors, but painfully bad by others. There are a couple things I felt were not set up well and relied too much on the audience knowing what happens in the series rather than expand on some issues.

Overall though, it was a very good film and based on sheer entertainment value, it's a 10 out of 10.

Wolf...I know exactly the scenes you speak of.

Great movie. Yes, there are a few scenes that are a bit lacking, but overall, it is an excellent film. It really puts the entire saga together.

Tough to watch aren't they? Pretty gut-wrenching if you ask me.

In the movie, Pelpatine (sp?) twice gave orders to "Carry out order 66" and his followers started destroying everything.

Very tough, indeed. You especially feel for Yoda.

"Failed, I have."

Poor guy...

Saw it today. Solid movie. I think that Lucas ended the movie to neatly, but whatever.

And I gotta say, what Yoda did to those two guards in red before his fight with Palpatine was the greatest thing ever.

I always thought the Emperor's guards were cool, until Yoda made them look like bitches. LOL

Good stuff.

Watching the entire prequel trilogy makes you feel for the little guy. He tried to tell both Qui Gon and Obi Wan about Anakin in Episode I. He tried to teach the kid in II, along with Kenobi, as well as in the first part of III. Try as he might, he couldn't do enough. That is why his quote "Failed, I have" at the end, is so gut wrenching.

Yes. The scene where Obi-wan tells Vader he was the chosen one, and he was like a brother, etc, is pretty intense as well.

The part about the younglings in the Temple is what haunts me.  Awful scene to have to watch.

Easily the best film of the entire series. A lot of people have said they watched EP4 as soon as they got home. But, make sure to watch EP II (AOTC) again. This film actually changes your perception of all the other films. Then again, I've been a die hard fan for almost 30 years.

The one thing that really ticked me off was that Lucas cut the best line of dialogue out of the film:

General Grievous: Unfortunate for you General Kenobi, I have been trained in your Jedi Arts by my creator, Count Dooku.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: And unfortunate for you, I trained the Jedi that killed him.

That's pretty sweet, but only half as sweet as Yoda owning the ish of those two Imperial Guards.
