Start a "Save The UT Vols Athletics" fund?

How much would you donate from your own pocket?

Perhaps a fund should be started, maybe the school needs help from the fan base...

How much would you be willing to donate out of your own pocket as a vol fan?

It depends on how transparent the money is, if the money goes straight to athletics, and more importantly to get us out of this mess than yes a little extra is warranted.

More importantly, what if Hart comes out and says "Gruden will accept the job for 10 million a year but we don't have the funds to fulfill that so we are asking for donations to make up the difference."

How much do you donate then?

Zero dollars and zero cents. I'm not donating my money to a school that spent $45 million on a training facility and that has a multi-million $ payroll. They can pay their own bills.

Hmmmm... buying tickets to our home games over the last 3 years... wasn't that really a "donation" already? The Athletic Department should be subsidizing Vol fans for having to bear witness to the train wreck that was Tennessee football under DD. Or at least a free red hot or Petro! Or better yet, want to fix the AD budget problem... SELL BEER IN NEYLAND!!!

Cheers!

If gruden wants $10 million per year and 100,000 fans each pay $100 per year, they can make it work! Just add it on to the season ticket price.

Most would not donate extra money as they have no say in what coach is hired. I have said all along IF Dooley were fired this year, I would send the money I had been sending for the last 10+ years(I have not sent it the last 2 because I was not supporting the idea of keeping Dooley). I make a yearly donation on top of my season tickets and required donation. It won't hire the next guy or pay any buyouts in full but it will help. IF Hart has the new guy in place by January 1st, I plan to send a check for 58,000. That is all I can do for now.

100,00 fans x $100 = $10,000,000. That should not be a problem.

Maybe an x coach or two would donated a few $100,000.

Gruden is not worth 10 million a year. I am quite sure Dave Hart and UT would not even continue speaking to him if he did. Hard to make a case for an unproven HC at 10 million a year when for the same money you could have Patterson, Petersen, Saban, and some change left over.

Good grief! There aren't 100,000 season tickets sold at UT. The 100,000 people you speak of included the band, students, and opposing fans. So you're asking opposing fans to now pay $100 over face value so UT can get Gruden?

I agree he is not worth 10 million a year, but I would say Gruden is far from an unproven coach.

But oh wait this fanbase is a win first I only go to the big games blame everything else but ourselves for not supporting the team kind of fanbase. See you all saturday at the game! GO VOLS!

I was one of them. I stayed home for the Troy & Mizzou games. I will be there for the UK game.
