Starters at QB and RB for 2013?

You nuts better pray Bray comes back. His experience will make a huge difference with our new receiving corp. Without him we got young receivers and a QB with no experience. Try that hat on and see if it fits. Idiots, Bray was fed up with Dooley and so were 95% of the fans.

As young as we almost certainly will be at wide receiver, I could see a degree of running back by committee, just to get the most talented personnel on the field, particularly if we should land Derrick Green. I could also see us having Lane and Neal on the field at the same time a good bit, with Neal lining up in the slot to take advantage of his pass catching abilities.

As for the actual starter at running back, we will never know just how much Neal's ankle injury hampered him even after he returned to the lineup. Nevertheless, Lane outperformed him statistically, rushing for 5.5 ypc on 658 yds., whereas Neal averaged 4.5 ypc on 708 yds. ( UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics - Football ).

Is it just me, or does Neal have Poole-itis? It seems as though he's so top heavy that he tips over with the slightest hit. Lane can squirt through a scrum for 3 more yards, and Neal drops where he gets hit...

Wouldn't this past year be considered Petermans's redshirt year, so he can't use that next year?

Nope, this season he was a true freshman.

Next year he will be a redshirt freshman.

When did Green commit?
Oh wait he didnt. Yet named starter by VN posters.

When did Bray declare? Yet named a non-starter, after the second best qb production in the history of the team.

I'll tell you one thing, I don't know who the starters are going to be, but I get the impression that CBJ isn't going to give a rats ass about what Bray has or hasn't done in the past because of his supposed draft staus..

Bray threw all over the field vs Jones. Trust me, Jones would rather Bray stayed.

If Bray throws a little tantrum on the side line like I saw several times this year, I think CBJ will send his butt to the showers.

Link to a tantrum?

Video or it didn't happen.

I think we have to assume Bray is gone until he announces otherwise..

I assume he's staying until he announces otherwise.

Peterman
Lane

This. I just don't see Bray staying another year, and Peterman was recruited by Jones at Cincinnati to fit his system. I honestly don't expect a lot this year, but foresee progress in subsequent years, unlike we saw with Dooley.

Why does everyone want Lane over Neal? Neal is a SR next year, Lane is a JR. The running game did much better this year with those pair, but neither did much to distance themselves from each other.

My understanding is this is a prediction thread. Has nothing to do with want.

Worley

Neal I would go lane but everytime he gets the ball it seems like he wants to dance around like a stripper and Neal this year went from a guy trying to hit the edges to a guy hitting the hole I think he will be more improved next season.

Bray and Lane. Bray leaves Worley will probably begin the season as starter and if he struggles Peterman takes over following Bama week.

Bray PLEASE get out of UT!! You were a cancer last yr and helped cause the downfall of last season!!! Your antics and yelling at coaches wont fly next season with CBJ, so please do us all a HUGE favor and go pro and take your chances there!!!

I completely agree.

I think Peterman is going to win the starting job, and Neal will be the starting RB, but Lane will get a lot of snaps too.

I've got to think that CBJ will evaluate Bray's play and talk to him to make a recommendation about next year. If he thinks Bray can help and get over his attitude issues he will tell him he can get him more NFL ready. If he doesn't think Bray can help he will encourage him to declare. The problem for Bray is he is nowhere near ready for the league. He will be like a little kid having a tantrum around a group of adults when things don't go his way. The one thing I can't see is CBJ encouraging him to stay just to have him sit the bench.

Worley will start if Bray leaves. Its as simple as that. And Lane wins the job,no doubt.
