Starting qb's entering the portal now.

If that's the best Napier can do, he won't satisy UF demands for very long. Then again he just needs some warm QB bodies right now. He can look for a real starter in the near future.

It’s an old tweet. LW got me with it too. We might have to put that Gator in VolNation time out.

Nobody on that list better than Joe Milton, the only two possible QBs that I would say yea for is Maye from UNC but everybody would want him and he is a legacy there, and Hartman from Wake Forest the guy can sling it

Hartman is definitely my #1 QB choice if we add one.

If we were to go after portal 1 yr QB.

My list in no order.

Hartman from.WF
Sanders from OkStU
Armstrong from VA

Wildcard - Grayson Mcall from Coastal

Barring an injury I don't see Tennessee taking a QB from the portal.

I see zero reason we don't. We have a guy who has lost his job at 2 different schools and a FR and True FR with zero experience. I'll be surprised if CJH doesn't recruit a portal QB. Milton has huge potential but I'm not thoroughly convinced he is a SEC starting QB yet. I'm hoping his SR year everything clicks and he finally puts good use to that huge upside. If nothing else you get a guy with 1 yr left who can push or beat out Milton and give Nico a year to get adjusted.

I agree with you. However how do you convince a starting QB to come here without guaranteeing them a starting job? If you only had 1 year to play, would you go to a team where you may sit the bench and not play?

I don’t know if he will be entering the portal from Boise State, but freshman QB Taylen Green looks pretty good. He’s more of a runner but for a freshman he did very well this year. 2000 yards 62% completions 14/6 TD to INT ratio 586 yards rushing 7.2 ypc and 10 rushing TDs. After such a good freshman season why wouldn’t he look for better opportunities.

He’s also 6’6” 220.

Devin Leary to Kentucky. That’s a pretty solid get. Their QB room was not good heading into next year.

Another highly thought of NFL Prospect, that will perform poorly at UK in that dreadful offense, yet still get hyped up.

I’m just going to say this about the QB battle between Milton and Iamaleava. Milton better turn out to be the guy, because if he doesn’t win the job we will be stuck with no scholarship backup QB. It’ll be Iamaleava Moore and Shuler, which would be a nightmare scenario. Milton most certainly will not sit another season as a backup.

Not if he loses it in the fall. He would be out of options and couldn't transfer regardless. He could just quit I guess, but that wouldn't look good to NFL teams..If Nico wins the job, it would be after the season starts. Milton will start the season as QB, how he plays determines if he keeps it. But he isn't going anywhere, regardless.

Feel like Milton is pretty secure. Clemson game answered a lot for me. Kid has done everything he could to be a good teammate and mentor to Nico as well. Idk if he will recapture the magic of Hooker but if he can be good which I think any decent qb should be in this system and have an improved defense we should win a lot of games.

Agree 100%.. I want nothing more than for Joe to show out this season, win us a lot of games and show the NFL he's a star. He could have left, but stuck it out and deserves some good fortunes. I'm definately pulling for Joe this yr, then Nìco after that.

The grass is never greener in the portal. Just when Walker Howard takes his cookies to Ole Miss cause he's not promised equal snaps at LSU, Ole Miss also takes Spencer Sanders from Okie State.

Spencer Sanders seems pretty vanilla, imo. If Howard is legit, he should easily win that job.
