"Crossville, Tenn. — Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) says there is a new state record for rainbow trout and it was caught in Polk County this past Friday.

15-year-old John Morgan of Benton caught the record breaking fish that weighed in at 18 pounds 8 ounces.

The fish is 32 inches long and 22 and a quarter inches in girth."

Dats a tree shaka. I would see if it can be stuffed to look like it's eating a squirrel or something.

Misleading thread title. Polk County is not Crossville. It was caught in Benton.

Yeah, that's my bad. I'll see if a mod wouldn't mind fixing it. The article I used is from a news channel out of Crossville but the fish was caught in Benton which is closer to the TN/GA line.

There are some big ole Trouts below the Center Hill Dam in Dekalb County, TN too. I've personally seen a 15 pounder caught below the dam here in DC. Seen a 80 lb. Flathead Cat drug out of there, and a 62 lb. Grass Carp caught there too. There is just something special in the waters below the dam. Why can't I ever have that kind of luck though?

Nothing that big would ever make it on the hiwassee. The put and takers would see to that. Come 3/1 they are in there dragging every brood fish and winter holdover out. Zero concept of conservation, just filling a stringer with 7 or 10 or 15. Went a couple weeks ago and a guy told me to try his spot, he had 11 from there. Showed me the stringer and I said isn't the limit 7? Uh yeah maybe I was decidin which ones to keep. Lol ok buddy, but what can you do? No cell phone service, no idea which car is his, no rangers or twra come around. There's no one to stop them.

I went wading through Dismal Creek here in DeKalb County with my new girl this evening. She caught one nice small mouth, but we mostly just caught a buzz. We had a fat sack of some straight fire grown by the hippies down at Dry Creek in the Wilder Holler area.

My cousin dropped us off then came back and picked us up once we were done. As we were driving through town I realized we were both high as a balloon. And when I say we was high, I mean we was up there by the moon. She was talking about wanting us to go to her moms for dinner. I was like look Kylie Jo, we've been blowing doedoe, were both plum twisted. Plus I got dirt all over my boots, girl I'm covered in mud! She then said something about loving me. I said shiiittee, you don't love me, go ahead and call your momma and tell her your in love with the drugs.

I know, I know....EXTREMELY COOL STORY, bro!

You ever fish the Smith Fork? I've caught some nice smallies in the spring when the flow is good.
