State Run TV Fox News Aired Pro-Trump Opinions Over Impeachment Trial

Using Michael Bolton as an example: the speed and thoroughness with which the Political Entertainment wing of Fox News turned on him, and the change in language from praise and adulation to disgust and derision almost overnight, points to a high level of positional control by the management of the channel. They know what sells to their viewers and provide it in spades.

The issue is really in the hands of those who do not have the competence to tell the difference between the news content and the political entertainment content. But that's true with every for-profit news outlet, not just Fox.

And while I find the channel revolting in toto (as I do CNN and MSNBC as well), the fact that the political entertainers have Trump's ear does not make them State TV, even unofficially any more than McDonald's love of Bill Clinton and his frequent stops there didn't make it the State Restaurant.

The closest thing you can get to unbiased news reporting is BBC world news. Nobody in the US does straight fact reporting anymore. It's all slanted, with Fox, Newsmax, and a handful of religious-oriented networks leaning right and everyone else leaning left.

Agreed. Their viewers had no interest in Michael Bolton.

Notice you could describe the right leaning networks. Can't to that for left leaning networks because they are humorous, broad sweeping and vast. They are catch all. It's like Tofu.

MSNBC Host Lawrence O’Donnell Declares Trump Supporters “Liars” And Refuses To Have Them On Show

O’Donnell often takes jabs at Fox News for being one-sided but it appears that his objection is not with any bias but the wrong bias. In reality, Fox News routinely has far more diversity of opinion than MSNBC, including considerable criticism of Trump who has repeatedly lashed out at the network. Hosts like Chris Wallace has delivered some of the most stinging interviews with the President.
