Today's game is probably one of the most important non-conference games of Pearl's career.

I am feeling pretty good about today's games - let's stay positive, VolNation, and hope we hear Rocky Top a hundred times on the ESPN networks today! Go Vols!

I'm with ya sister! I'll love 'em win or lose, but really believe we can make a statement with a win today!

Go Vols!

Wait and see how you feel if we lose both. That should answer your question.

I lose respect for coaches when they lose games, but gain respect when they win.

Pearl I can see, but Kiffin? Really? He's coached 12 games with the mess that Fulmer left him. You're going to loose respect for a guy if we loose to a top 15 team tonight?

Makes perfect sense.

A very small amount but the answer is yes. I am not expecting a loss tonight.

Losing to Memphis will probably mean that we will have e .500 SEC record.

I think you should just save yourself the trouble and skip the game at 4:00. Better yet, just ignore the "probably .500 SEC team" playing today for the rest of the season! It will really make everyone involved feel a whole lot better....

Or he can watch as he pleases, since he is simply a Vols fan that wants to see improvement from the team's play and hustle all season doesn't mean he can't watch the game. Enjoy the game and GBO

How does losing to a cusa team affect an sec record ?

It will serve as a metric to measure where the team is after tonight. Memphis is a good team and would be a top 5 SEC team. But they also had a disappointing loss to UMass, one of the worst teams in the A10.

Please elaborate. 3-5 sentences will be fine

Lets say I'm coaching the 2009 Super Bowl champs vs. Lane Kiffin and he is coaching Washington State. I should blow him out by 70 points but since I don't know what I'm doing I only win by a couple of TD's. According to your statement you would have more respect for me as a coach for winning in that scenario than for Kiffin even though he has an extremely sub-par team and managed to make his team look respectable.

You can't always judge a coach by wins and loses, you have to look at their situation.

Let us just hope that Tennessee's players create something on their own with 15-20 seconds so CBP doesn't have to call a set play.

I do see your point, but the cream always rises to the top. If the Washington State coach deserved respect, he wouldn't be predicted to lose by 70. Okay so he only loses by 14. What does that prove?

I really think that Bobby Maze should study some film on John Wall.

Memphis would not be top 5 in SEC. Regardless of outcome tonight, I would put 'Tucky, Tenn, Florida, Vandy, SCe, Miss St, Ole miss all ahead of memphis....

Any college team would get blown out by the Super Bowl champs. They would get blown out by the Detroit Lions for that matter.

Do you think Nick Saban's Michigan St. team could've beat Texas? Do you think he has a chance to beat them with Alabama? Does that mean he is somehow a better coach now since the talent level has increased at Bama over MSU?

If any coach could take Washington St. within 14 points of the Super Bowl champs it would prove that God is coaching Washington St.

a coach who has the guts to get out on the field and play a team that is favored by 70 points already has minimal respect from me. i would not watch that game

I didn't begin respecting Saban's NCAA coaching career until he beat some quality NCAA opponents.

I see. You're the type of guy who would give up facing terrible odds.

How does your boyfriend feel about that?
