Guys, Worley is....well....what he is. Its the first true games he's played in 3 yrs. Its not like hes had the benefit of learning a system for 2 years.

All those things you complain about happened in the first half, with the exception of the int.

In the second half, by the numbers, Worley was 8/10 for 107 after going 3/9 for 35 in the first half. That's a CONSIDERABLE improvement, not just an improvement. There is hope for the kid if he can continue to improve.

I get so sick of hearing "settling for mediocrity". Newsflash Einstein, we were not "mediocre" last year. We SUCKED. We were flat out "turible" to use your term. Horrible, awful, miserable, sucky, whatever.

Mediocre at this point is an improvement. Eight wins would be a big step up from last year, even including a bowl win.

As for Worley...what we have someone better? Peterman looked worse than Worley last week. Worley might get better, might not, but if we had a Petyon Manning on the bench he'd be playing.

We will see as the season goes on...Worley still has a few weeks to prove he can get it done. If he is as bad as you and others seem to think, the coaches will pull him.

But forgive me if I trust them, and not you, to know when to do that. :shakehead:

You need to realize you're arguing against guys that took True Freshmen QBs to the National Championship Game in NCAA 12/13/14. Their records of success are unparalleled. You can't hope to spar with, and win, against such venerable keepers of football knowledge.

I mean.

C'mon.

How hard is it to press the X button on time, Worley?

The Vols made me nervous a few times today. They pulled through like "champs" though. I have not seen that in quite a while. The O line staying still on that WKU off-sides penalty, was just epic. Tennessee won't be winning the SEC East this year. But the time is coming fast.

Your amnesia is convenient with regards to the Matt Simms era. I envy you for that.

I'd take Matt Simms over Worley any day of the week. Simms played behind a freshmen line. Worley is playing behind a very good line and he's still awful.

Your crazy. The only thing Simms had down was the sack. At least Worley tries to throw.

Both of you are forgetting the incrompetent one. JC, aside from the coaching up job from Lane Kiffin, was truly horrible for all of his Junior year. If you recall, he could not even perform a handoff correctly.

Worley is functional, which is what I believe we need since we do not have PM back in the stable. Alabama went to the NC with an average, functional but tough quarterback.

I've been optimistic all along the Worley would become a quality quarterback - not a star but a functional SEC caliber QB who gives his team a chance to win.

I was very concerned at the end of the 1st half and still concerned today although the 2nd half looked much better with some crisp slant passes.

We've all endured past QB's who couldn't get the play called in time, couldn't had the ball off consistently, and appeared to be confused half the time. Give Worley credit as he appears to have the pre-snap QB responsibilities under control.

Without question, his passing accuracy has be sporatic and has been well documented. BUT, if Croome had of caught a couple of passes that hit him in the hands the last 2 games then Worley's number would be inflated.

I was very disappointed with the decision that led to the interception - throw the ball away instead of chunking it up for grabs. Very bad decision that I hope the lession is learned.

Still, he's only played 3 halves of football. 1 and 3 were acceptable, not great but acceptable. 2 was bad. Possibly, the lack of flow to the game from all the WKU turnovers could have contributed?

I'm still hopeful Worley can provide solid QB play, but he's got to make progress every week.

Also Croome has demonstrated his blocking skills which I'm sure the coaches and RB's love, but he's got to catch the balls that hit him in his hands or find the bench.
