Status of the Politics Forum -- MUST READ

Several years ago, I had several VolNation members approach me about starting a forum for fellow Vol fans to discuss politics. I was very hesitant because I've seen the emotion that can arise from political forums. Eventually, I agreed, and for the most part the Politics forum has been a very productive part of VolNation where members have civil debates and discuss political news and events.

For whatever reason, recently this forum has been filled with many more personal attacks than ever before. These personal shots don't always get caught by our moderating team since we really don't have the time to babysit this forum in addition all of the main Tennessee forums. However, normal forum rules regarding personal attacks apply in this forum. If you aren't able to have civil discussions without resorting to name calling then this isn't the place for you.

There are about 4 or 5 of you that are breaking these rules on a regular basis (along with the other occasional rule breakers) and I just can't tolerate it any longer.With that said, any poster not following the rules of this forum will immediately be given a two week vacation. Any further offenses will be grounds for a permanent ban.

I want this to be a resource for VolNation members to debate politics but it isn't going to continue to be a place for cheap shots and name calling.

If you see a post that breaks forum rules, please use the report post button to bring it to a moderators attention.

Oh boy, now I know how to get a vacation!!!

When I first glanced at the title of this thread, I thought it said 'statue' of politics forum!!!

So immediately I penned a quick poem to commemorate the occasion, it's much better than what we heard in DC yesterday.

Actually this is one of the most civil political board forums I have yet to come across.
