Steroid Stuff

I loved Vinny Castilla, Braves did too.. enough to move Chip to left field.

He definitely was a huge benefactor of Coors Field though. Looked like someone just drug him out of the kitchen of your favorite Mexiacan restaurant

Gomez is an idiot. Honestly, I think every PED guy should get in the HOF if they really deserve to, including Bonds. For a few reasons:

1) I blame MLB for the steroid culture. They knew what was going on, but let it go after the lockout season because it was getting viewers back into baseball.
2) We don't know of everyone who was roiding. Sure, it gives hitters an edge, but isn't it leveled out if pitchers they were facing were juiced as well?
3) Drugs have long been a part of baseball culture. Going back to the beginning of the game. Amphetamines, etc.

Guys like Gomez and many others who are HOF voters have this screwed up view of baseball that's deeply affected by a view on the history of the game, they look on older times with this golden, fond recollection of a period that never really was.

I love baseball, but this whole Disney-fied image of the history of the game that so many seem eager to push just irks me to no end. To me, the HOF should represent the history of the game, and you can't have an honest version of that without including deep, systemic cheating, whether it be gambling or PED's.

Listening to older baseball people with hall of fame votes is the most frustrating thing ever.

I miss the old Mile High Stadium without the humidor. Guys would get jammed and still get it out of there down the lines.

I want to say Ryan Klesko leaned over to get a ball on the outside part of the place and drove it 420 to center.

It is literally just completely based on which rumors they decide to believe and which they decide to ignore. It's retarded.

Anybody that voted against Jeff Bagwell and Mike Piazza, when not one iota of evidence has been brought upon them, for thinking they might have used steroids, should be fired.

I was watching a game at the old Mile High Stadium and Sid Bream literally fought off a pitch and got it out down the line opposite field. It looked like a fist shot from the Centerfield camera on TV.

I also remember David Justice hitting one into the upper deck that went down an entry way onto the concourse that they estimated around 480'. Playing the Rockies right after expansion in that old ballpark was comical for a couple of years.
