He is currently the Head Coach at St. Johns, where he lead them to their first tournament appearance since 2002. Notable wins for this year include, Duke, West Virginia, Notre Dame, Uconn, and Pitt.

Money. We will have to open up the checkbook to get a good coach in a timely manner. Hamilton knows it, UT knows it, prospective coaches know it, hell, we all know it.

Lavin has the #2 class in the country coming in and its a hell of a lot easier to sell NYC to recruits than Knoxville, no matter how relevant we've become. I'd take him, but I have little doubt he feels a sense of loyalty to a program who gave him another chance after a 7 year hiatus.
