Did this thing definitely air?
I am surprised they can toss Craft's name in there for a paid spot. I'm not saying it's an NCAA issue. I'm just surprised they can use Craft's name like that without paying him, and, of course, they can't pay him while he's still playing in college.

Yeah, I've heard it a couple times on TSR (AM 1180)...and I don't listen that much

Wow.
Is the "not available to Aaron Craft" part airing too? That's wild.

Yep. I thought it was really funny. They may have gotten his permission to use his name in the spot.

The Pearls holding a grudge on Aaron Craft is still absolutely hilarious and stupid.

Craft is a public figure and they really are not using his name to sell anything. I don't see it as an issue in any sense.

That's probably the reasoning.
That makes more sense than the suggestion that they got his permission. Because, if they needed his permission, then I don't think he'd be able to give it without it being an NCAA violation.

I still find this surprising. The Craft line makes the ad more memorable and thus could help Calhoun's sales. Perhaps you can toss a public figure's name in a paid spot if you're not claiming they endorse the product. I haven't studied this area of the law. I'm just surprised that you can apparently drop the names of public figures in paid spots. The use of Craft's name could absolutely help boost sales by making the ad more memorable.

I do find it funny, by the way.
I was humored and a little shocked at the same time.

Heard it this morning and the Aaron Craft line was not there so they must have edited it out after the way it ran Monday with it in there.

Nope, it's still there. Pearl doesn't say it; it's the background announcer with the mile-a-minute list of offer-doesn't-apply-in-all-locations-if-an-erection-lasts-for-four-hours-etc-etc cautions.

Really, I heard it again this morning and didn't hear the background announcer, Seth Stokes, say it either...
