According to ESPN's Allstate Playoff Predictor, even with the loss to Arkansas we have a 95% chance to make the playoffs as long as we beat either Alabama or Georgia. This is without making the SEC Championship game. Now, if we lose to both of those our chances drop to 13%. We simply can't afford more than one more loss. More margin for error is the beauty of a 12-team CFP.

I'm still on board with Heupel. We all have to realize there will likely never be another Nick Saban (7 national titles in 27 seasons as a college head coach) in our lifetime, so using him as a barometer for any program is unfair - the success he had was unprecedented. Even Bear Bryant (6 titles in 25 seasons) and Woody Hayes (5 titles in 28 seasons) didn't win at that clip. Urban Meyer was close (3 national titles in a 9 year span), but he's also done with coaching. I want to win every game, every season, too, but the fact is that's not reality. And before you say, "it's not that we lost, it's the WAY we lost," then join the club. Teams get upset every year and we aren't immune. This was not the first "trap game" in program history and it won't be our last.

We will bounce back next week vs. Florida and a win on the 3rd Saturday in October will put us right back where we need to be. GBO

Sounds good, but what makes us think we can beat Bama or Georgia if we play like this. We still have to beat Florida, Kentucky, and Vandy too
The same thing that made most on here think we would destroy everyone on our schedule after the first four games.

Beat Alabama or Georgia? The putrid Florida team we play next week has found new life just as they're about to roll in here. Have you not seen this movie before?

Granted we have to beat ready, but Florida has beaten a bad Miss St team and a meh UCF team. I’d pump the brakes on Billy turning it around. They still aren’t a good football team.

I think everyone needs to quit talking about this sh1t. Part of the issue is our guys thinking they get off the bus and win. There are a few players with that mindset and it is a growing moment. I want to see how we respond next week then we can worry about playoffs

The playoffs are literally a free-for-all at this point.

Every 1-loss team is still alive. SEC & BIG teams that finish with only 2 losses are likely in, but a 3rd loss probably disqualifies you, which is why the Arky game hurts so much.

Michigan & USC are done because they already have 2 losses and tough matchups remaining.

Needed Miami to lose last night. Clemson has found their groove and won’t likely have a potential loss until the ACC Championship game against Miami. Thus, I think Miami & Clemson get in.

I'm not concerned with Billy turning it around. He won't. I'm concerned with us dropping the ball against them. Again. Like, again again.

A LOT has to change for them to beat Kentucky. Similar team to Arkansas. The only good news is they're about to have 4 games at home. If they can get some good momentum then 10-2 is still in the cards...
Thinking 9-3 tho cuz that's what Tenn does.

With this play there are many more to add to the Georgia/bama list. We have to worry about Fl, KY, abd vandy as well.

95% chance “ as long as we beat either Alabama Georgia “ is rather misleading. Truth is, at least according to the tv experts, last night’s loss dropped us from a 79% to a 43% chance to make the playoffs.

LOL, the Vols aren’t making the playoffs. The OL is inept, the QB is one bullet Barney Fife, and the WR’s can’t get open against average DB’s so……another 8-4 season but 7-5 wouldn’t shock me. It’s a regression year.

I saw 42% on ESPN's college football final this morning.

Doesn't matter if our offense is going to be stagnant.

The overreacting is ridiculous, but not surprising. We played a bad game on the road, at night. It was their SuperBowl, let's be honest. We aren't going to play that poorly the rest of the year.
I hope you are right but Nico has very little confidence stemming back from Oklahoma. He got rattled early last night and while he tried to shake it couldn't. This is where the VETS on the OL have to command those guys do the job. Heard and Campbell were both not getting it done and Karic I'm still trying to figure out why DD isn't starting there. He does a much better job inside.

There is no point in predicting that what I saw last night will do in the future. They are unpredictable. Now that we have our feet back on the ground, it's better to just watch without all the hype. I am guessing we will be 3 point favorite this weekend.
