While I'm not a fire cuonzo guy, I'm not fired up about him yet. He hasn't shown me enough yet.

The first reply in the thread was that Tennessee fans who don't think Cuonzo is a good coach was they can't see the big picture....this is laughable.

They had a big win at home against a ranked opponent. They also lost against an awful Austin Peay team, at home.

The big picture tells me nothing. Halfway through the season, I can't tell how this team is going to play. Will they turn in a second half like they did against Florida or will they become the second half team against Memphis?

I believe Cuonzo is an ok coach with poor talent. I have no idea where he will take us because quite honestly, he hasn't shown me any consistency in what to expect.

Big win today though and I'm glad they won.

zjc, i read your response, but i'll disagree with the "taking smart shots" after the Memphis game.

First game I have seen any coaching at all. CCM almost gave me a heart attack by calling a time out at the end of first half and drawing up a play to free Golden for the last shot. I think that play gave us momentum and confidence enough to go forward and win today. Kudos. GBO

lol @ you. I've never once hated on Martin. But unlike the delusional types, I understand that today was just one game. During this season, UT has been extremely inconsistant and I'm not willing to crown Coach Martin the second coming based off of 1 game when we have 15 more to play. I'm not hating and like what I see but your thread is about as dumb as the people calling for Martin's head. I give props when their due and this is clearly the best performance UT has had since he took over. I'm more interested in seeing if the team can play like they did today in the other 15 games, especially on the road.

I was simply replying to their idiotic threads. I wasn't saying he was the savior, just saying there will be a lot of up and downs for the first couple years. That, and people shodnt base his coaching ability on a quarters seasons worth of work.

My apologies then. I took the whole purpose of the thread wrong. We certainly agree on that. But the Pearl lovers are going to hate Martin no matter what he does.

Thats not true. Today was the first time I have seen any in game coaching and that was my complaint all along. If he proves he can win most all Pearl supporters will back him.

I honestly don't even see the purpose of this thread. Stop entertaining the people calling for Martin's head and just block them. Anybody who judges a coach because of a few games in 1 season with kids he didn't recruit is not a true Tennessee connoisseur. Just leave it at that.
