Still no Coker, but an injured Foster???

A lot of freshman would never see the field again if we followed that rule.

well then don't even have them on the field in a close game in the first place. that's why there's a thing called practice. if you can't even hang onto the ball, you shouldn't be on the field.

I can respect Florida's defense but either one of the teams in the west would have destroyed us and Florida today. The west has the crown if either one of these teams play like they did today the rest of the season.
It's a young season but I understand your logic with that 7 to 3 score in that game...

That's not true. Show me a link to some statistics.

i'll see what i can find...he muffed a punt with 3:20 left in the 3rd against bama...Vols fumble away chances, lose to 'Bama 6-3

another fumble in the notre dame game (cannot get to knox news article - it's a pay service)...

espn stat page is messed up...it says no fumble in either game. i also remember him fumbling in the south carolina and maybe vanderbilt games.

Recounting mistakes from last year as evidence that people shouldn't be on the field this year even though they haven't repeated those mistakes!?

Taylor had a fine throw to Coker for a TD tonight. He took a big hit after the throw. That was a huge play at the time.

I think D Morley, will be a fine player at UT, just wasn't one of his better games.

This game was close enough having either Inky or Harrell back, would have probably been enough of an edge for UT to win.

Thats whats so tough. There are probably a dozen plays that if they had went the other way UT wins.

that furthers my point. he can make a nice throw across the field and take a shot from a linebacker, but he cannot hold onto a football.

How does that further your point? How does being able to throw a deep pass relate to your ability to avoid fumbling?

he can make a spectacular play but cannot hold onto a football, a basic, fundamental skill. it boggles the mind.

not enough practice.

Throwing a ball to a receiver that is completely uncovered isn't that spectacular. Also, he hasn't fumbled in quite awhile.

Taylor is one of the better playmakers on the team.

if you dont like taylor now, learn to like him, cause i suspect he will be the starting WR next year and the year after.

*sigh* you don't get my point, do you?

he is somehow able to make a great, unconventional play for a wide receiver, but he cannot hang on to the ball.

didn't taylor lose a fumble in the air force game?

Throwing a 50 yd td pass against Florida is pretty special in my book.

It was a special play, but I'm pretty sure there are about 20 guys on our football team that could have done the same thing. Probably more than 20. Regardless, being able to do that has nothing to do with holding on to the football. That's just a ridiculous idea.

i never suggested it did. i was comparing his ability to pull off great plays with his inability to pull off fundamental ones.

Taylor is an ex-high school QB are any of the other WR's or RB's on the team? I'm not sure any of those other players could have made that play. That was well thrown considering he got nailed after he released it.

It was a good play. I really like Lucas Taylor. I'm simply trying to debunk the notion that there is some sort of correlation between one play and fumblitis.
