So said Hyams just a little while ago. Said they thought earlier he could play in Starkville, but just learned SEC had not yet cleared him to play. WTF?

I think I read that he's cleared by Tennessee and the NCAA but he's still not cleared by the SEC. But it's more about that they're checking to make sure they did everything right, like the paper work and stuff. IIRC

I thought this had already been "cleared up"? Now, what the hell is the reason for the delay?? Someone enlighten me...:ermm:

FALSE. CCM said yesterday he is cleared to play. However, he isn't going to rush him intro action. Will probably Kentucky if not later (UGA or UCONN).

Was just relaying what Hyams said, and he made it clear this was new news, but he had no explanation for it.

The SEC offices haven't been open until today because of the BCS game according to VQ. He can practice. Could be cleared today or tomorrow. Rob Lewis said he probably wouldn't have been playing tomorrow anyway.

CCM announced Monday morning that all parties involved had cleared JS to play (including the SEC which was the last btw). CCM also stated JS most likely would not play this week against either MS or KY. Said he would not play until staff was confident he was physically ready for SEC play. Unless something has changed since Monday a.m. Hyams is wrong. If something has indeed changed, I'm sure CCM would address it.

I heard 5-7 minutes tomorrow, and upwards of around 10 the next game (saturday?).

Rob Lewis said that CCM jumped the gun and Stokes has not been cleared by SEC yet. Hyams isn't wrong.

Maybe CCM jumped the gun then, because Monday morning he said exactly what ITSGR82BATNVOL posted, because I read the same article. It really doesn't matter as CCM already said he wouldn't play this week.

i havent heard anythiing yet about this i really hope this is not true because if so, wtf is the sec's problem why does this crap seem to happen to us? i really dont see there being a problem as stokes is a great student and there really hasnt been anything to make it sound like there would be a problem.

note: i havent seen or heard anything from jarnell himself as i follow him on twitter and he has said nothing at all about a change in status.

link?
or was this on the radio just now?

Rob Lewis posted it on Volquest. He spoke with coach Martin. Here is his entire post.

"Apparently, from what I'm told by the UT side, when Martin replied to the question about having received 'word from the SEC office' on Monday afternoon by saying, "He is actually cleared and today will be his first day of practice," he presumably was speaking about having passed his physical and being medically cleared to play.

Whatever the reason for his comments, it appears that Martin accidentally jumped the gun on that one.

I'm told that due to the BCS game between LSU and Alabama, today is the first day that the SEC office has been open and that word could come as early as tomorrow or by the end of the day. Regardless, I don't think there were any plans to play him tomorrow night, and shouldn't be any negative impact going forward."

Yea, but since CCM already said Stokes wouldn't play this week, it's a mute point anyway. No big deal.

i could be completely wrong but to me this rules him out for saturday against uk as well. i dont think ccm will want to put stokes out there for his first action against the #2 team in the country and the frontline that they have. i am thinking it probably will definitely be uga at the earliest we will see him on the court. this sucks big time i have been counting down the days to see him out there, looks like we are going to have to wait just a little longer.
