Stokes

He's not slow. He'll be better in the NBA when teams aren't double teaming him. He has a very quick first step just needs to be more decisive like you say. He's far from slow to be 6'8 (6'7) 260 and be able to get up and down the floor like he does will only help him.

I said the same thing last night. So you got Swanson'ed and didn't even know it. :)

I didn't know he was taking criticism from any fans. If so, then they are criticizing our best positive of the year. This guy has been a beast, great attitude, great hustle, and great player.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Jarnell Stokes! He has taken more crap from our fan base than any player I can remember, with maybe the exception of Scotty Hopson. He has improved so much this year compared to last year.

Last year people complained about his free throw shooting...he went from 57% to 70%

Last year people said he disappeared during big games...he's averaging 17 points 12.5 rebounds against the top 3 SEC teams UF, UK, and Ole Miss.

Last year people complained about his jumpshot...he's hitting at least 1 per game now.

Last but not least, last year people complained about his post moves...this year he is hitting running hook shots, turn around hook shots, and reverse layups. When he takes it to the basket he takes it hard with authority and either makes it or gets fouled almost every time.

He is the most improved player I can remember and has really been the only positive thing from this team this year. He is easily my favorite player on this team and ranks up there with Lofton and Chism. He has earned himself a spot on a NBA roster. I hope my Thunder use their late 1st round pick on him. He could do just as well as Perkins and Collison for a lot less.

He's easily the most improved and the MVP imo. I was hard on him and still am. He's a 5 star, 6'8 260lb player. I'm going to expect more from him than someone else. That's the way it is, I make no apologies for that. Whether he's earned an NBA spot or not remains to be seen. Whole nuther world there and he will get dealt on regularly. Basically from guys that have mastered the fundamentals of the game. When Tim Duncan gets the ball down low and the only thing between him and the basket is Stokes. Duncan will score. That's all there is to that.

Started playing better when they let him face up with the ball rather than just on the block like the first dozen or so games.
Mistake #57 this year for CM. Late to figure out where his horse likes to play.

What are you complaining about? Seems like if everyone starts trashing him because he's not up to Charles Barkley standards, then watch out. At least that's the way it appears in your story. Cause & effect.

Truthfully, hes been a really + player for us and a great ambassador/example for our team. Glad we have him. Good thing these guys don't pay attention to the adolescence and ignorance on here.

Sir Charles was/is only 6'6. He was the Mound of Rebound. He also had many moves and tricks in his bag. He was a scorer and rebounder. That's why he succeeded in the NBA. You got to have more than just 'oh, my eligibility is up..time to go pro'. It don't work like that. The guys in that league are assassins. They will open the eye's big.

For sure.

And he wouldn't be asked to play on the block a lot either. His offensive game might be tailored for the NBA than College. Now I may be giving him too much Vol love, but I think the speed it up and spread it out style will benefit him more than our slow it down and throw it inside.

You don't say. You just automatically put him up against one of the best PF/C's to ever play the game. Duncan is a top 25 player all time...there aren't many that are going to stop him. A better comparison would be what he has done to Drummond and WCS both players that he has played and that will still be playing when he's in the league. Duncan doesn't have many more years left.

Almost as bad as Donovan McNabb saying he didn't think Doug McDermott would make a very good pro because he wouldn't be able to guard Lebron or KD. :loco:

lol! He'll meet guys like that every time out in the NBA. If I get your drift, I don't care what he does in college and neither does anyone else. If he's not fundamentally sound, he will be eaten up. I'll hang up and watch because I hear that train a comin.

Well, I'll tell you what. If he gets in and gets all these pros to bow to him while he 'finds his style'. I'll kiss all your butts on Broad St and then buy the house a cheese steak and all the beer we can drink. I actually watch the NBA and these guys will deal on his young ass and laugh about it in the showers. That's everybody from top NBA down to the Miwaukee Bucks. Zaza Puchulia with the freakin Bucks would deal on that boy all day long.
