Stoops on Jones' Program

That's exactly what Saban said about Dooley during game week, and is worth exactly as much. I do think it's a lot closer to the truth this time, however.

Should have said...

"Butch Jones? Well, he inherited a big pile of steaming manure down there in Knoxville, I mean, Kiffin and Dooley back to back, ha ha, what did they expect? Yeah, they asked me to come fix things but I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. So I've got a lot of respect for a guy who will jump neck deep into that mess."

Stoops is not being a gentleman, nor is this coach speak.

He is building us up as a top tier SEC team, so he can crow some more if OU beats yet another SEC team.

It's so transparent, it borders on sickening.

Go Vols!

"They/he has a LOT of 'twitch"..."

"obviously VERY Talented..."

"You can see it on the film..."

"Play with a LOT of speed and effectiveness..."

"Gonna be a REAL challenge for our players..."

"etc...etc...etc..."

Dooley was a Saban disciple. He spent time on Saban's staff working under Nick. What would anyone expect him to say? The ONLY 2 reasons Dooley was even hired here was because of who his Daddy was, and the fact that he worked under Saban. Dooley was in way over his head and the results proved it. Butch is getting it done recruiting and developing his young talent, plus he has been successful in his previous stops at Central Michigan and Cincy. Plus Butch did something in his first year that Dooley never could. He got a quality win vs a high ranked SEC foe against USC. Don't ever compare Butch to Dooley. Butch earned his opportunity to coach at the University of Tennessee, where Dooley was given his based on his last name.

First, your right. I think he is doing just that. But why is it sickening? Would you not do the same thing? Wouldn't any coach given the circumstances do exactly that?

Perhaps you mean it's sickening because it's us on the bottom of it all but don't be pissed about the process. We would all do it if we were in sooner shoes.

CBJ took a very bad Cincinnati team (4-8) to OU in 2010 and only lost by 2 points. OU was 12-2 that year. We can definitely beat OU! Everyone can be beat!

Stoops hates the SEC. I'm pretty sure he will run up the score if the game gets out of hand.

The game was in Cincy but to your point Butch has faced Stoops before....that should help.

This type of comment by Coach Stoops is groundbreaking, new stuff. I've never heard anything like it!

Stoops likely overlooked Cinci in 2010.

Stoops will not overlook the opporitunity to eviscerate an SEC team, regardless of who it is. He will do everything he can to drag us behind his chariot if given the chance to.

At this point, Oklahoma only has 2 ranked teams on the rest of their schedule. They have to make every win count and a big win over an SEC school will make for plenty of jerking material for the staff and fans when they're making their case for the playoffs.

Stoops doesn't respect Tennessee. He won't call off the dogs if he has the chance to destroy us.
