Stoops always compliments opposing teams and their coaching staffs, finds several points to call out, and does the same thing after each game. You can call it disingenuous or fake, but he's been doing it for 15 years, so it's nothing negative towards Tennessee.

Pathetic. Pitiful. I don't know. Maybe it's sickening because I view him as condescending and patronizing. If he is not, then I simply misperceive Stoops.

Stoops (in my humble opinion) is not just rattling off the same ol coach stuff and blowing smoke. He has an agenda, and this is part of it. He can't crow to the playoff committee about beating a powerhouse SEC school again, if he says we're bottom dwellers. But I think he views us as bottom dwellers, and he plans an stomping us, then proclaiming victory over another mighty SEC team, all the while pounding his chest.

I'm probably wrong, but that's what I think ol Bob is up to.

We're talking about UT vs OU.
He's talking about playoffs.

It’s just Volnation, being volnation. That not ruining a good story with facts... yeh it happens a lot here. Stoops is just saying whatevery other coach says. Move along, nothing to see here.

It's 100% coachspeak. He said similar things about the two duds OU has played so far. He says that or similar about every opponent.

Did anyone else notice that Butch mentioned in his presser that the Cincy team that hebtook into Norman almost win? He seemed very confident his presser. I think he and this team believe they can win this game.

First time post so here we go, Coach Jones is very aware of his chances @ victory in Norman. Its the People that make the Line about the game [VOLS 21pt dog]...I live in West Tennessee and have been attending UT games since the early 70's. I have seen ups & downs of UT FOOTBALL for forty years and its fixing to get back to where the VOLS should have been all along, vying for the eastern title in the SEC. I like what I see and UT is showing signs of life and I am glad THE BIG ORANGE finally got a coach and not a NAME. Probably oversteped some sort of boundry but that is all I got...besides GBO!!!!!

Exactly. He wants to build us up to beat us down and be able to point to it as a signature win by the end of the season. That's all this is IMO

Never cared for stoops or the sooners. Use to date a girl from oklahoma and lemme tell you the fans their are just as bad as bammers. I talked to a guy that said ou was the winningest program in college football..... I couldnt believe my ears. but instead of pullin up google to show him i decided to let him think that. I hope we beat them just to make stoops and the rest of sooner country to recognize we aint gonna be walked over. GO VOLS

Very solid first post.

It's hard to overstep boundaries around here. There are enough folks that keep it a moving target. In reality, the odds makers could be very wrong in either direction. It is not beyond the realm of reality to think that OU might stomp the snot out of the BIG ORANGE. Nor is it lost in the vapor that UT might pull a major upset and send Stoops crying to the committee.

Coach speak is worthless. Jones is doing a great job though, people are blinded by the last two failures of head coaches to see that. Jones had the first decent win versus South Carolina, pushed UGA to OT and almost pulled that one out, and is signing top ten recruiting classes year in and out.

This has a lot to do with recruiting.. SEC is where all the recruits want to go and if someway he can tarnish that he will... Smart move on Stoops he's just trying to protect his investment..

I think if given the opportunity Stoops will run the score up to some unimaginable number. He is tired of all the SEC questions, I hope the Vols keep it close and I really hope Stoops doesn't try to make a statement. The media isn't helping us right now

This game is a 3 TD loss or more IMO. Reminds me of Oregon last year. Probably the toughest team we'll play all year. Right up there next to Bama.
