Stoops to Notre Dame?

if ND hires gary patterson or brian kelly they'll be in a NC game within 3 years.
I disagree. I think both coaches are good, but I'm not sure they could improve Notre Dame that fast. Kelly is a good coach, and I wouldn't have been too upset if UT had hired him last year, but I'm not sure he an bring in national championship quality talent, at least not that fast. Patterson has had success, and I think he is great, but I'm still not sure he'd get ND there in 3 years. This is the best team they have had in a while, and they are wildly overrated.

I would be all over Brian Kelly. Dude can flat-out coach. If you don't believe it, check out rivals recruiting for the talent he's been winning with.
The talent is what concerns me. I know Cincy isn't a great program, but if you finish in a BCS bowl and get out recruited by Duke, you are doing something wrong. Cincy isn't going to dominate the Big East like some people are so sure they are.

This morning on a radio show in Nashville (either The Wake Up Zone or Dan Patrick) that Notre Dame has blocked the site where you can track their teams plane, so fans can't track where the admin is going to look for a replacement. Not sure if its true that is just what was said.

I think that's the problem with him. To win at Notre Dame, you have to be able to recruit. Not saying he won't be able to, but he isn't proven yet.

ND's problem isnt' talent. it's coaching. he just hasn't developed players.

Jim Harbaugh will leave Stanford and take the ND job.

that's the current rumor. his wife really likes the bay area. if the raiders offer (likely IMO), he'd probably take that job first.

Offensively, I agree.

Paul Johnson would be making a huge mistake if he left Tech. He wouldn't have the same success in South Bend as he is having in Atlanta.

I am sorry but some of the stuff I'm reading here is kind of stupid.

Iowa > Hawaii. Iowa struggled with UNI but they also beat Arizona, Penn State and took Ohio State to overtime. After watching Hawaii get blown out by Georgia it's hard for me to imagine that Hawaii team could come close to beating the three listed teams.

What does Iowa struggling with UNI in the first game of the season have to do with anything anyways? They've beaten better teams sense. Do you honestly believe Tennessee is the same team they were in Week 2 when they faced UCLA? Most people feel Tennessee would beat UCLA if they play again. Why is it hard to believe that Iowa hasn't gotten better themselves? Do you recall Michigan losing to Appalachian State in Week 1? They went on to beat Florida, Meyer and Tebow.

I won't deny Iowa didn't get lucky in some of their games but you also can't deny that they haven't gotten better from week 1. I believe their four losses last year were by a combined 16 points. So maybe they aren't as luck as they are good? That's just how they win their games. Not to mention, look at the talent they do it with. They don't even get 25 classes. Some of them rank like 50th. People who don't think Ferentz could win 10 games with Notre Dames talent are crazy. Not like Kirk Ferentz went 11-1 one year. The only loss being in the final seconds.

Should also be noted that Iowa hadn't lose until their starting quarterback got injured. Iowa was up 10-0 against Northwestern before Stanzi got hurt. Iowa's back up quarterback a freshman had only thrown a couple passes during the season and Iowa didn't score against NW again. Iowa only lost at Ohio State the following week by 3 in overtime. Iowa probably wins both of those games with Stanzi. I don't care for Iowa but some of the stuff being said is non sense.

If he leaves Stanford for the Raiders, he has no passion for football, or coaching, or retaining credibility for what he has been able to do at Stanford thus far.

if this were to actually happen it would be a great hire for Notre Dame. Stoops is a terrific coach IMHO
