DAMN, Guys - You would think that we were “Sons of Saban” - or something…..

We are 10-2 & in the College Football Playoff- without having to play in the SEC Championship Game!

(Btw: I hope the Conference Championship Teams beat the HELL out of each other…)

It’s not like we are sitting at home debating on who should be in the Citrus Bowl / Outback Bowl / Gator Bowl / or Peach Bowl! (None of them seem to matter now, anyway….)

We have it better than 122 other NCAA Division 1 football teams in the nation!

Maybe even better than a couple teams ranked ahead of us - since they have to play each other….

I don’t care if we are seeded #12!

We have an “opportunity” HERE & NOW!

CJH knows it! The Team knows it!

Let’s just put the BVS away, please — & Rip into the playoffs with FULL SUPPORT!!!

GBO! 🍊 🍊 🍊!!!!!

I agree with you, but it still doesn’t change the fact that the committee screwed us just like they always do.

I don't think "BVS" has a single thing to do with most of the 'complaints' here. It is the structure of the playoff and the selection process that most have issues with. But never having had this "BVS", I wouldn't know anything about it anyway.

I don't care what anyone says. Heupel was facing borderline death penalty recruiting restrictions when he got here and now we're 4-2 against Bama and Florida in the last 3 seasons. Not to mention we are one of two teams in the playoffs whose QB has less than 4 years of on campus experience. That's beyond impressive and I'm so excited to see this team in the playoffs and further down the road

Maybe so! But, I think most Vol fans would love the chance to make it to the championship game without playing UGA or the FAKE UT! I am not saying the Vols wouldn't win vs either nor should they run and hide. But, playing all the other teams gives the chance to beat UGA or the FAKE UT in the national championship. I think Oregon is very good. But, I think they lose at least 3 games in the SEC. I know IU, OSU, and PSU would lose 3 or more in the SEC! We shall see if the SEC is KING once again this year!

Well played and a great positive spin! I can be negative myself. I feel like this was the year that UT should have beat UGA and got badly outcoached in the second half. But, Heupel has done an amazing job and got UT in the first expanded CFP when probably 80-90 percent of the other coaches out there couldn't have made it happen!

Yeah it's always someone else's fault, We're in, We've got a shot at the NC. That's all that matters. We're not scared to play anybody anywhere! GBO!!

I don’t think you nited your post properly. But I’m rather new here so I’ll defer to the experts.

Lmao!!!! I got you bro.....this is a blast for the past for sure.

But seriously, my 2 cents i absolutely agree with OP. Being an 80s kid and growing up going to games 80s and 90s (Decade of Dominance) enjoy this time, it doesn't last forever.....just look at the impending Bama meltdown, FSU, Gators, LSU, etc. Be thankful for this time we get to experience.

.......that said, I do think we should be hosting and I was really hoping it would happen as I'd have liked to go back with my 74 year old father who was my age back then taking me to all those home games. Be an amazing memory. But definitely some political/$$$/ home cooking in these seedlings, no doubt.

I mean, yeah, that game was disappointing for a lot of reasons. Lack of turnovers, missed opportunities, and weird penalties all culminated into a very frustrating loss. But it was on the road against a team whose fanbase is utterly obsessed with us so they never let up. Nico honestly played a good game for most of it, but you can only ask a first year qb to convert 3rd and longs so many times. Beck simply dialed it up against Banks and the D, but hopefully that was a wake up call that the defense isn't unstoppable (especially when holding isn't called). I saw it as a learning experience for a relatively young football team who honestly needed to be brought back to earth. Luckily we have Huepel, a former JUCO QB turned national championship winning QB/ AP player of the year as our coach to teach our players about resiliency and overcoming obstacles. Man, I don't know if y'all see it, but this guy proves himself to be the man for this job time after time. Every year he gets better at a handful of different things, and I really think he's getting closer and closer.

Maybe because you saw nothing but bad for the first decade and a half of being a fan - kudos to you for sticking it out. I became a fan while at UT in the early '80's, so I've seen the very good as well as some bad.

I just never got the immediate focus by so many on the negative at the slightest hint of trouble. I mean, seeing Pruitt or Jones references on here now, given where Heupel has taken the program and with a strong administration in place is to me completely absurd. Those days are gone and as far as I'm concerned forgotten.

How they rank them is how they rank them. Time to focus on whoever and wherever it is. Let’s get ready to go kick some butt!!!! GBO

I don't disagree, but the issues with how this thing is run need to be addressed. Fortunately, Danny is on the case and very aware of the problems with the selection process.

I don't ever see it being resolved satisfactorily because of the deal Sankey made with the devil, selling out the SEC to ESPN and the Big 10 and essentially making us the 'equal' to a ridiculously inferior league. So maybe it's just best to enjoy the games and forget about it, but if this remains the procedure there will come a time when we are in the position of Bama, USCe, and Ole Miss - begging for a spot and seeing a field where you know you could kick the schiit out of more than half the teams.

Football in playoff

Some people just love to complain

Again, no one is complaining about the UT program (with regard to the playoff, at least), but the entire selection process. If you're happy with the subjectivity of a "committee" of bureaucrats deciding your fate, then more power to you. Some of us see that it might very well be us at some point on the outside looking in and knowing we're better than half the field.

The Orange Colored Glasses are strong in this one. The defending Nat Champ is from a vastly inferior league.
My betting record with UT VS PSU since the first couple of wins is not good.
I will say our curb stomping of Mich in the Citrus Bowl back in the day is one of the highlights of a lifetime of following UT.
