1) We need bodies to fill out the roster. Otherwise we will see more walkons like the Sullin twins playing.
2) It is better to have a 2* DB than a 2* lineman. They at least can play on the special teams.
3) Lance Thompson knows what he is doing. Some of these guys that are from Alabama or Georgia will pan out to be decent players......remember Fred White?
4) For some reason linemen take a longer recruiting relationship than skill players. Next year we will bring in a plethora of linemen.
5) The former coaching staff went for homeruns and left us stranded. We could have easily had Stone, Coleman and Robinson had Kiffin and co. seriously recruited them from the beginning. Dooley has been behind the eightball and, IMO, doing a good job so far.
6) I will be estatic for a top 15 class on Wednesday.

no.

its better to have any lineman than it is a 2* saftey with less than 5 spots left.

im entitled to "whine." get over it.

its not about star number so much as it position needs. it makes sense to put off accepting a commit from a 2* saftey in order to secure an opening for a lineman or d-lineman of any star rating.

i have faith that these guys know what the situation is, how many people we can ACTUALLY sign, how good players can/may be one day, and who exactly we need to sign.

its not like they are out there throwing out scholly offers like candy there are decisions being made. have faith in the staff they know what they are doing.

Let a 2* lineman try to catch a Javier Arenas on a kickoff, friend.

Chris Johnson 2* running Back.... Rest is History
congrats! it doesnt matter. you dont get it. its not about freaking star rating. its about position needs. i would rather wait for a lineman thats a 4* or even sign on a 2 or 3* lineman first than take a no-name 2* saftey that has upside. its not logical.

i dont care what the star says, i care what the position is. and also, damn straight i would take a 5* Ambles or Rogers over two 2* DBs anyday...

I think we all would. But if we get 5* we can get the 2* to de-commit....

People actually trust amateurs like Scout and Rivals over the pros like Thompson and Dooley? Ridiculous.

Our coaches know what they are looking for. Montori Hughes anybody? Chris Donald, Lennon Creer, Bret Vinson, Nu'Keese Richardson, Mike Edwards, Ahmad Paige, D Mo - ya'll crazy

:censored: people are so obsessed with saying that "it doesnt matter what the star rating is, look at Chris Johnson. or Hughes?" this has nothing to do with it.

if we were loaded at OL with only 4-6 spots left and we just needed to fill a few needs here or there, then yes, I would be 100% content with taking a 2* saftey.

but as it stands, we are not.

And in the end, so will the TN coaching staff. You don't really believe they would tell Ambles (if he wants to sign...sorry we are already at our limit...good luck to ya)? Just because we currently have a commitment today, does NOT mean we have to accept their signed LOI on NSD. This staff will take the limit of BEST players they can get. So stay as pissy as you want; it's your right.

Robinson and Stone...a long with all the others. Take a deep breath.

What is more concerning is the lack of DT depth.

but by all means, stay content with a 2* saftey and not enough OL and DL.

eveything will just be okay, because Chris Johnson was the lead 2009 season rusher and was a 2*.

i agree. i did mention that in an earlier post.

also, i understand Robinson and Stone are still there, but add in Ambles or Rogers, and then we are pretty tight, and may need to exclude one or more. im not too thrilled with the idea of "accept all recruits and then weed them out in the end." seems classless to me.

The 2* safety will obviously become a linebacker. IMO we are moving to a 3-4 so we need depth at linebacker which makes this a good pick up all things considered. Why does everyone hate on a guy who wants to play for us?
