Stop the WHINING!!!

Arkansas' offense reminds me of Cal and Bama. Their two backs even run like Lynch and Forsett.

UT's defense has had more success against the kind of attack Arkansas brings than any other. The match ups look good even with UT's injuries.

Well, I'm not saying we're gonna lose Sat. night, but I will say that if you feel good about the match up of our D-line against AK run game by comparing it to Cal's, you need to also remember that Justin Harrell was plugging up the middle in that game. We've found it tough to replace him!

I urge you to find a post by me, outside of this thread, where I've been pessimistic.

Then I urge you to understand that my point wasn't trying to be pessimistic, but WAS trying to point out your flawed line of thinking.

I wasn't talking about outside this thread and I also don't have a flawed way of thinking. You may think I do, but that's your opinion and you are entitled to that.

But anyway, GO VOLS AND ROAST THE HOGS!!!

I'm not an Arizonan. I'm a displaced Tennessean. Dang liberals. I understand the point of your post, I really do. I'm actually quite optimistic about our team finishing 10-2 and pounding someone in the bowl game. However, I was only making a very simple point that you took as pessimism.

I don't see how pointing out an actual fact can be pessimism. Saying the season sucks because of that fact, perhaps that's pessimism.

Its not "Pessimism" per say, but it can lead to it. That's why I don't like pointing out potential losses in sports, even if the games have already been played.

VA isn't pessimistic. I don't think he would argue that the Vols aren't dramatically improved either.

There isn't anyone on here thats 100% pessimistic.

Everyone here (besides opposing fans) has the same goal. To see their Vols win.

People act differently to that. Like after the LSU loss some say "Hey they were a better team, it's not that bad we lost" while others say "The chance was there to win, and here's where we lost it"

You have your fans that are just happy if Tennessee shows up on Saturday and play for their entertainment then you have the ones that want Tennessee to rip the head off of anyone the even steps on the field with them, even if they are a better team.

Then you have your ones that will rationalize a loss, then the ones that will maybe jump at conclusions and blame everyone on the team even the water boys for the loss.

If everyone in this place came in here after LSU and we had a big "Moral Victory" lovefest just because we went 5-6 last year. Then I wouldn't come here.

We lost because there are things in either our talent, coaching, scheme, etc.... that wasn't as good as the other teams. Just because people come here and point them out doesn't make them pessimistic, it makes them fans.

Me personally I'll come here and point things out, I will do my fair share of moaning about things, but It doesn't mean I'm pessimistic or see the reality that we are a good team and should be very proud this year. I don't think anyone here is ashamed of Tennessee this year. Is there some that think we should be 9-0, Hell Yes and I'm one of them, am I mad we're not, No. Will I point of why we're not 9-0, you better friggin believe it.

Everyone's heard the saying that if everyone was the same this world would be boring, same thing applies here. If people quit "whinning" or questioning things about a team that were so dedicated to that we come here and talk to people we don't even know about then it would be boring. If there's one thing I hate it's a big lovefest in a thread where there are 50 people agreeing on a subject.

I'll have to agree with BVN here. :birgits_giggle:

I was at work today and was talking with my uncle about Saturday's game. For some reason he thinks we will "Get Killed" and is somewhat apprehensive to watch the game. Who could blame him though since our D sucks it up at times. I was also talking with a co-worker and he said that he is disappointed with our play as well.

The thing is ladies and gentlemen.....we a 8 POINTS away from being undefeated and being number 3 in the BCS if not number 2. So why is everyone whining about this season?? I have whined about it some also, but I shouldn't be.

Last year we didn't even get to a bowl game, but this year we are poised to make a run at a New Years Day bowl game. Will it happen?? Who knows. But I for one am VERY PLEASED with the turn-around this season and am tired of hearing the Whining going on with some of the fans I know and the ones I hear talking.

Other than our D, which is pretty rough around the edges right now, we have made HUGE strides from last year and we should see that not the fact that we can't stop a convent of midget nuns from running the ball of us.

So will we win Saturday, I SAY YES!!! We will ROAST the HOGS and have bacon and sausage Sunday for Breakfast. SO GO VOLS AND GREAT JOB THIS SEASON!!!

Hey, that's about 50% of a team! Like saying; "other than the engine that's a great car". We rank about tenth in the SEC in defense.:cray:

Well said my friend. I don't doubt one bit that it takes both sides to keep the debates going, but I was trying to get optimism up for Saturday's game since alot of people thinks Arky will tread all over us.

Just trying to keep the spark going and well IT WORKED!!

Don't get me wrong I understand what your saying. I've just started understanding that if your going to talk with a big group of people (like Volnation) about a subject as huge as Tennessee football, expect 1,000 different opinions on the same question. With those opinions ranging from far far far left to far far far right.

You just have to stick with what you believe baby and if you're proven wrong just speak up and say truth brother.

If it's not for the resurgence of Erik Ainge and our offense then we would be where we were last year....Thank God that we aren't, and that's one of the reasons you have to poke a prod at some things. For one you will NEVER hear of a coach at 7-2 suggest they could be worse, because then your players begin to believe they can't do better than 7-2. Its all a mindset to win. Michael Jordan once said, "If you aim above your goals, you are more likely to reach goals and exceed them."
