UT shouldn't storm the court. That being said, if they students choose to storm the court after a game like this, I'm too happy to care too much.

Ridiculous.... We should be better than acting like the Fighting Spiders or some crap team like that. Tennessee should EXPECT to win games like this.

Naa we don't need to storm the court after beating a #1 team. We did that last season too. It's nothing new.

We should expect to beat the #1 team in the country, something that had NEVER been done in TBA history? Wow, your expectations are a little excessive.

Oh, and even if it does become "expected," does that mean no party? Way to take the fun out of games. :)

on the KU message boards they were preparing for us to storm the court and they were amazed that we didn't.
I kind of like looking like it was not that big a deal. (i know it was)

There were rumors floating around the student section that Kyle Prater was in town for a visit and to watch the game. I have no idea if that had any validity though...maybe someone here can clear that up.

Even if it was because of cops, I'm proud we didn't storm the court. It shows how far Tennessee basketball has come. We're not elite (yet), but elite programs don't storm the court after beating the #1 team.

No need to do that. I remember being disappointed with out football fans in '98 when they tore down the goalposts after beating Florida. I knew we hadn't beaten them in a few years, but you still act like you've won a big one before.

Our expectations should be that when a team comes into TBA, even one as good as Kansas, that our team should be able to protect its home court. No, we're no elite yet, but our fans knew how to act like we'd won a big game before, and I'm proud of that too.

I remember Michigan State storming the court a few years back after a win over a number 1 team.

I think with the circumstances of recent events, how we had multiple walk ons playing big minutes, and how we have never beat a #1 team at home would have been acceptable for us to rush the court.

Blame the SEC. Every other conference has cops help students safely come on the court/field. The SEC thinks its "safer" to have police officers get in a shoving match with a large crowd of college students. Which scenario sounds safer to you?

I'm pretty sure the whole UTPD was in front of the student section as well as every usher in the place

I was on the court on the baseline in the student section. Cops/security guards were shoulder to shoulder a foot in front of me telling me I would be arrested if I tried to run on the court. I figured I'd just let the people behind me push. They had a couple surges (one nearly broke through the cops) but the cops kept pushing back. I didn't want to get arrested/banned from all future sporting events...
