Storm the Court

I was on the court on the baseline in the student section. Cops/security guards were shoulder to shoulder a foot in front of me telling me I would be arrested if I tried to run on the court. I figured I'd just let the people behind me push. They had a couple surges (one nearly broke through the cops) but the cops kept pushing back. I didn't want to get arrested/banned from all future sporting events...

As a student I was down there in the front we wanted to storm the court but the Marketing interns security would not let it happen, only UT wouldnt let students storm the court after upsetting the number 1 team

Alright, I was in the second row of Rocky Top Rowdies, and if you watched, we did TRY to storm the court... but there were too many security guards to deal with. Plus, the players came over and celebrated with us anyway, so it really didn't matter. Kind of disappointing though, it was definitely the highlight of my UT career. And to anyone who says "we didn't need to storm the court, we have beaten a number 1 team before", obviously you haven't ever been in the student section and felt the energy. Haha

The students behind the basket are the kids who wear pom poms on their head, and capes to basketball games,so you can probably see why they weren't able to break through. It's pretty mid-majorish to storm the court anyway.

Well at least we're not Clemson. They rushed the court after beating the 13th ranked team.

Nothing screams "were a legit top 10 team looking to earn national recognition and respect" by rushing the court over a midseason non conference win.

Given the circumstances with what all happened to UT last week, I understand the need for the outpouring/channeling of emotion. But thats not the correct venue, IMO.

As a former student who had a great time storming the court in 2006 I would have been chomping at the bit to do it on Sunday-- but, watching on TV, it was really impressive to see that nothing happened (obviously we couldn't see the sea of cops).
