Storming the court

Thousands of students and fans have been injured to due court/field storming and millions of dollars of litigation has been brought as well over the past years. And that is a fact.

That's a rediculius argument. I stormed that court twice, and thank God that I was able to do so.

well i bet you are wrong. There are almost 30,000 students at UT so we probably know some different people, but me and my friends would have absolutely done it. I know this is useless cause theres not way to prove anything, but i just dont like you saying me and my friends would have *****ed out, must not know us then.

Just pull it out already and then we can move on...

We Are Tennessee! We don't storm the court or the field. We win, it's typically normal routine around here, except recently. As my Paps used to say, "Act like somebody, damn."

Did we not storm the court when we beat Kansas after suspending everyone? or did I just pull that out of my imagination? I very well may have added that bit in.

If you don't want fans storming the court for safety reasons, that's fine.

If you don't want fans storming the court because you think we're "above" or "too good" for that, get over yourself. All of us in the student section were on an emotional high - it's the best UT game I've seen in person for sure - and if we want to have fun after a game we'll remember for the rest of our lives, some pretentious, holier than thou standard shouldn't stop us.

Have no problem with students storming The court in basketball if its a significant game. However UT has been one of The best sec teams The last 8 years or so with The exception of UK and therefore shouldn't storm against any sec foe. Yes we are better then most in The sec at basketball. Even when Florida won their championships we were better then them.

Imagination. The players ran into the stands and celebrated with the students

Surely you remember how Jeremy (Mark) Foley got his panties all in a twist the first time UT fans stormed the court against FL and cried all the way to Mike Slive's office until Slimey caved in and levied a fine against UT for merely doing what every other school in the land was doing (and continues to do) after a great victory over a hated foe. The Foley/Slive love affair is to blame.

Yet:

Minnesota Fans Storm Court

Had UT knocked off Indiana, Slive would not have allowed us to do this. Something's rotten in Denmark.

We didn't storm the court vs Kansas either. That one probably deserved it, but as usual, security was tight. I was too high in the stands to storm the court though.

Hell yeah to this!!!!! Just like the earlier comment about rushing the field at the Florida football game.....let the students enjoy the moment if they want to. It doesn't matter if we (the university) have been there before. That was then and this is now for these students. My son attends as a freshman now and I would absolutley encourage them to rush the field/court for the experience. It would be one they would never forget, even if it landed them in the pokey. I think many of you are forgetting what it's like to be 18-21 with a bunch of friends all encouraging each other.

When you dominate a team (UF) over the last 7 years why rush the court? I expected us to win tonight, wasn't surprising to me!

In basketball.....FLORIDA should STORM THE COURT when they BEAT TENNESSEE!!!!
:good!::good!::good!::good!::good!::good!::good!: :good!::good!::good!::good!::good!:

I was at the game when our second string beat then number 1 Kansas. I tried storming the court and about got tackled by security.

If we could not storm then we never will.

rule of thumb: act like you've been there before .......

Because we are a basketball powerhouse. I hate that argument.

Well don't know what "been there before" defines but I don't think we have

I would much rather see the fans storming the court than Jordan throwing the ball way up in the air at the buzzer.

I kinda wish we would. But I always am afraid for the rival players. You know some drunk jerk will try to get mouthy with a player.

If we beat old miss though. I would like to get mouthy(headbutt) with Henderson.

The SEC will fine UT, or any member $5000 if their fans storm the court or field. Most schools have already paid that. The 2nd offense is $25,000 & the 3rd is either $50 or $100K. Stupid SEC panty waste rules because they're afraid someone might get their foot stepped on. One of the best scenes I ever remember is Shields-Watkins Field in 1998 after we beat Fla in OT. I was in the upper deck and could barely see ANY green grass due to 1000s of fans on the field. Too bad the pansy SEC office has to try & take the fun out of everything!

Very good point. I wouldn't trust those fans around opposing players or coaches.

For the record. I would not want to do any sort of physical harm to Mr. Henderson.

I would however like to watch him get ejected from every game he plays.

never really thought about that. your right though, not that anyone would storm the court after beating Ole Miss, but if for whatever reason we did, i would absolutely get in Hendersons face, especially with the adrenaline of the game pumping. Hes not even a big kid.
