Michael Cohen arrives to testify in Stormy Daniels hush-money payment probe - as Trump refuses to appear before the grand jury and his lawyer insists he won't be charged

Michael Cohen, the lawyer-turned-critic of former President Donald Trump, was spotted Monday arriving to testify before the Manhattan grand jury investigating hush-money payments made to Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election.

Cohen facilitated payments between Trump and Daniels, a porn star who claimed to have a one night stand with Trump in 2006, and Playboy Platmate Karen McDougal, who also claimed to have had an affair with the married businessman.

He was the only person to go to jail over the hush-money payments when federal investigators were looking into them. Now Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is trying to determine if any state laws were broken.

'My goal is to tell the truth,' Cohen told reporters outside the courthouse, dismissing a suggestion that he might be motivated by a desire to see Trump behind bars.

They've invited him to testify before a grand jury, which legal experts believe is a sure sign that criminal charges will follow.

Prosecutors interview Stormy Daniels in Trump hush-money probe: Porn star agrees to cooperate as ex-President's lawyers warn he could be indicted within days

Prosecutors met with porn star Stormy Daniels on Wednesday in their investigation into 'hush' payments paid on Donald Trump's behalf to cover up their alleged affair.

Her lawyer Clark Brewster tweeted that Daniels met and answered questions from Manhattan prosecutors, as the ex-president's lawyers warned an indictment is coming.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, tweeted her thanks to the attorney for 'helping me in our continuing fight for truth and justice.'

If he gets arrested there are thousands of people who would never have voted for him that will give it serious consideration. There’s 3 people on this board who wouldn’t take that into consideration. Only 2 more to go.

Of all the things that they could muster up to indict Trump with, this is the most idiotic. I mean, an indictment with this is near guaranteed to cement his primary win. I mean, at least come up with something that Trump supporters actually would think was a bit of betrayal or something.

Lets face it, the whole "Trump-lago papers" bit isnt going to work because Ol Joe and Pence (and Obama) were even more guilty.

It never ceases to amaze me that in all Trump's empire, they can't find one sensible thing to charge him with. But that just shows how stupid the Dems are.

My concern is that if Trump gets the nomination again though, the GOP establishment pricks will let the Dems cheat their way to victory again rather than focus on winning.

Zero doubt that you rise to the pinnacle of Manhattan and AC real estate development without breaking some big boy laws. Probably state and federal. Going after him for this is lazy AF.

So, in other words, there will be a standoff at Mar-a-Lago. Can't wait for all of the "if the black guy just didn't resist arrest" to vociferously argue that Trump should resist arrest.
