Straight Talk Wireless (merged)

Straight talk used Verizon’s prepaid towers for years. then recently began using them again. Carriers pay millions for backhauled fiber to their principal towers. Offsetting the costs with roaming agreements with smaller carriers. Verizons bread & butter network is for it’s contract customer.

Also, ST’s customer care is beyond garbage.

I have seen ads for this service. It appears to use the same network as Verizon's prepaid. Its a great deal, anybody using this? My contract with T-Mobile is almost up and I cant wait to change to something else.

I've had attached for quite sometime now.. service is great for the most part. Picked up in neyland pretty good.. for some reason everyone around us had Verizon and their service sucked.. not sure why.

Metro PCS, Cricket, Boost, Straight Talk are all great no contract services. They offer the same quality networks the contract providers offer at the lowest possible prices. Most people view these carriers as inferior because they're no contract and they don't overtly carry the Verizon, AT&T, or US Cellular names so they never venture outside their little boxes to even try them. Since 2002 I've paid no more than $40 a month for my unlimited plan and gotten then same thing everyone else has been paying $75-$150 for.

My wife and I pay a little over 80 a month for 6 gigs plus roll over data. What data I do not use, is rolled over to the next month.

We used ST for several years and as far as value goes they are very good. As far as customer service they are as bad as you'll EVER get!!!

Been with ST about 11 years now. No complaints. You can go to Wally World or their web site. I have the unlimited plan.

My wife and I have had straight talk for a few years now. No real complaints. Their customer service is better than AT&T, which isn't much of a compliment. But the call quality and coverage have been really good. Two phones, unlimited* talk text and data ~ $99/month.

*They do appear to throttle your data speed after a certain threshold is reached. And you will get a notification if you use a large amount. We have never been charged for any data excess though.

Other than traveling where do you ever frequent that doesn't have wifi?

They are by far the worst on any military installation I’ve been on.

We had straight talk, and my wife talked me into switching to sprint. I've hated it since we started, about to swap back. I never had issues with straight talk.

They throttle from 4g speed to 2g speed once you exceed 8gig. When we first started with them the cap was 2.4g, then bumped to 5g a, little over a year ago, and now is at 8g since March.
