Vandy showed a lot tonight and this is the best team they've had since I can remember.

I will say that the announcers complaining about the officiating to me was a little weak. The play with Leak scoring on 4th and 1 was not going to be overturned even if it was reviewed as the videos did not show clearly one way or the other. Announcers said so when it happened but then kept harping on it later just to hype some controversy. Lame.

The unsportsmanliike call after the tying TD was bogus IF-- big IF -- the Vandy receiver did only what ESPN showed him doing. I wonder if there was more after that little blip of tape. They did say the flag was late and the video they showed ended rather abruptly. Strongly suspect he said something or gestured to a UF player on the way off the field after that. Hope to find out more later.

Last, while I agree that the Vandy QB was remarkable, I am somewhat gratified that it was a pick thrown by him that ended it because his father is a complte frickin' a-hole. Your the Dad of the opposing QB, you don't go into the stands and mock the home team's cheer. Looked at one point like his wife had to hold him back from going to get in a fistfight with Florida fans. Five will get you ten he was drunk. What a jerk.

If Vandy wins next weekend (as they should), then only UT stands between them and a bowl berth and you better believe they will come into Neyland ready to play. I got a bad feeling for you guys and that game.

They didn't show the throat slash gesture right before he thought he was at a night club!

It's pretty sad when our only chance for fulfillment is stopping Vandy from going to a bowl. I guess I'll take it.

He's a cop, cops are thugs, why would you expect him to act out of character?

Nothing wrong with doing the gator chomp. Hell he is a fan just like anyone else and honestly that will be the only time vandy will come close to winning at Florida. Quit being so anal on how a fan should have the proper protocol. Id do the gator chomp too. At least Vandy showed heart out there and deserved to cheer anyway they like. UT on the other hand has no hearlt except for some cocky athletes who think things should be handed to them on a silver platter.

I heard they called the wrong number and showed the wrong replay. Apparently someone at the game said there was someone else doing a lot more than what they showed on ESPN. Just a rumor though, so who knows if it is real.

cops are thugs? Take shots at teams all you want, but knocking on someone who risks their life for a public service is childish and immature. GROW UP.

The officiating was pretty weak... I'm wondering if they're getting lazy thinking that they can depend on instant replay to bail them out.

As far as Cutler's dad being an a-hole, I'm sure that the gator fans didn't instigate anything

I also am wondering a bit about the officials in general thinking they can be bailed out by the instant replay. I certainly hope that doesn't start happening.

lawgator, I can see where you are coming from with Cutler's dad. BUT, really all the guy is doing is cheering for his kid. When a team has something like the Gator chomp that they do at games, it is going to be used against you at times. I don't view Cutlers dad doing the Gator chomp as any more disrespectful than the Florida fans who were probably doing it around him the whole game.

Now if he was holding up a sign that said "Urban Myth" or "Overrated" ..... then I would agree with you. :biggrin2:

Why is everyone making a big deal out of the way Cutler's dad acted during the Fla game? His son plays for frickin Vandy, and his son had just orchestrated an unbelievable 4th quarter comback at FLORIDA. Who the hell wouldnt be excited if they were him. His kid has become Vandy's best player ever and the best qb in the SEC, so let the guy celebrate a little when his kid plays really well. Bottom line, his son plays for Vandy, and they were playing toe to toe with Florida, so cut the guy a break if he gets a little overly excited. I mean its Vandy for God's sake, why are we being critical when their fans cheer a little excessively, its not like they ever have much to cheer for.

I suspected as much. Typical whining by announcers trying to make something out of nothing.

Problem is he was not just rooting for his kid. He was PURPOSEFULLY antagonizing Gator fans. Now, everyday fans do that. I just figure the parents to be a bit above that, especially when they are on the road.

I don't expect the guy to come in and humble himself at the Altar of Urban. But likewise I think he should show a bit more class than to mock opposing fans and apparently almost go fight one.

Maybe my expectations are too high. But I can honestly say that its the first and only time out of many times you see parents in the stands on tv that I have ever watched a guy be such a troublemaker.
