Strip club

Back in the early 70s I had three friends that were strippers. They were stripping to pay for college. Today, one of them is a retired marriage counselor, another has a PhD in Psychology (retired professor) and the third has published two biographical history books with minor success as an author.

It was always fun to watch them perform and work the crowds.

Me and a couple of buddies went to a strip club last nite. I haven’t been to one since probaly 2007. I used to go quite a bit back in my younger college age days but now at 42 and married I just felt weird and out of place at one and my married friend did as well. We both felt like we were cheating on our wives and breaking the law we both remarked it’s kinda weird now cause we are both old enough to be some of these girls dads lol. I guess some things are best left in your youth and in the past and you evolve and grow out of them strip clubs just seem like a HUGE waste of money to me now.

I went out with some of my old UT buddies from the early 80's a few years ago. We hadn't seen each other in years, and of course, as it always did, we end up down at the Ear. We were in there about 15 minutes and I kind of recognized some fellow sitting at the stage. I went up to him, and yep, another one of our long lost buds that just happened to be in there. We hadn't seen him in 30 years. He was in town on business and just happened to go in there on a whim. We hooted and laughed so hard when we saw him, the bouncers came out trying to figure out what was going on. But, It was more like old guys meeting and talking about their families rather than the girlies.

I’ve been a customer of the adult ballet much more than most. I’ve been in clubs throughout North America. When I was in my 30s it was fun. In my 40s not so much. I never cheated on my wife in one. It was safer than going to a regular bar, trust me.

Worst song to get a lap dance to is Ozzy Osbourne "Mama I'm Coming Home" I felt like it really hit the lady in the gut.

Best was Shake it Like a Salt Shaker

My top 3
Mons Venus-Tampa
Gold Club -Atl
Purple Palace -Memphis (not the real name but everyone knows the club)

You could get in trouble in any of these places if you wanted to spend the $$$$

I went several times when I was late teens and early 20s. It was okay, but I always cracked up when one of my buddies would think that one of the dancers were really into him. Like , that is what they want you to think you idiot
I had a friend with this problem. Me him, and another buddy took a road trip many years ago and he was literally buying gifts for strippers back home that he'd go see.

Many many years ago I worked protection for several girls who were headliners. They would go to clubs all over and perform one are two nights, usually weekends. I would also go with them to private parties. I was hired as their "bodyguard" as they called me.
I remember some really wild times back then. Serious cash was being made buy these young ladies. I am still friends with all of them many years later we still laugh about some of the things that happened for that "mighty dollar". Fun Times For Sure!

I never much cared for strip clubs. But I had a buddy who did. We took him to the Ear in Gray for his birthday one year. It also happened to be race weekend, so it was packed. There was this one girl who "preformed" dueling banjos with her boobs. The crowd was literally throwing balled up cash at her while she did it. It was wild. But I can't imagine doing that now.
I cant imagine you'd get balled up wads of cash if you could do it now.

I used to go to Ken’s after work quite a bit, but it was in the 90’s.
We were in their one night and me snd one other guy went up to the stage to tip the dancer…. While we were sitting there she was working the guy next to me…. Well…. She put her legs on each side of his head and when she did he licked her like a lollipop! She kicked him back and within 2 seconds the HUGE bouncer snatched him up and threw him over the table behind him where the guy’s friend were sitting… then the other bouncer grabbed him and started dragging him across the floor…. The other one got to him snd together they threw him out…. And most likely gave him something to think about once they were outside…. It was a trip

It's where I saw my first bar brawl. I watched Tennessee beat Miami one Saturday in 2003. That might be what I need to start doing to turn around UT' misfortune.
I couldn't tell you anything about the scene now. I wonder if Brass Stables is open.
