Strong takes a shot at UL fans

Calling All Louisville Fans! Charlie Strong Wants #BBN Passion | Sports Heartbeat

This morning Charlie Strong was dodging coaching rumors left and right like he was Aaron Jackson in elementary school P.E. It’s pretty funny to see that Charlie doesn’t want to be at Louisville by throwing himself at any and every school in the SEC (Tennessee & Auburn). At the same time Charlie took at shot at UofL Nation by saying that he wishes that UofL fans would have the same passion of their state counterparts in Lexington…Here’s what he said,
“Kentucky can travel with the Big Blue Nation, they go take over. We should have that same passion here.”

Yeah, I thought about that the other day when I seen were you're from Nicholasville (He's not too far from Lexington). Thankfully, I'm a lot closer to UofL. Even though I'm right on the Tennessee line. :)

Were I live, Knoxville is 10 minutes closer than Lexington. :)

Kentucky fans must have done a lot of traveling, because very few of them were at their football games this year.

Was speaking with a customer and UK booster, and he said that actual turnstile attendance at one game this year was a little over 18k. (Actually spoke to him when he stopped through Knoxville on his way to Atlanta for the Duke game.)
Don't know if that is true, but I know it was bad this year. Perhaps Strong ought to realize what sport rules in that state. UK fans are as fickle as anyone when it comes to football. In Bball the fans are great. Obnoxious but great.

Bear Bryant realized it.... after he won the SEC title at Kentucky he got a watch. That same year Rupp got a Cadillac.

He left too.

That's the thing. He was comparing Louisville football to Kentucky basketball. Of COURSE they take over places like the Georgia Dome ot the Superdome. Basketball is all they have. Hey cards fans anyone know how many tickets they returned for their game against us at PJCS? 1000 or so? Just saying.

On the other hand he is right about cards fans. They show up late in the 2nd quarter. Then make runs to the bathroom cause they cant hold their beer. Then come back to the seats double fisting only to stay a few minutes in their seats long enough to drink away and then makes more runs. I ended up giving my seats to my brother who partakes in that ritual too cause I was sick and tired letting people out and getting beer spilled on me and couldn't watch the damn game!

if Strong said that and also lied to the recruit today I would not want anything to do with him. He has zero character if their two things are true. He will be nothing but trouble.

Since rumors came out he was going to Tennessee..lol
Anyway I made a trip to a game in Neyland last year and was made an instant fan (being married to a UT fan helped too). The game day traditions there is what Charlie Strong wants here but probably wont happen. Maybe some Louisville fans should go down to Knoxville to see what Charlie is talking about and report back to TJ. Better yet get on youtube. Its everywhere there.

Buyings not the problem. The stadium sells out every game. Its the fans getting their assess in the seats and staying there.

Do whatever it takes. A enemy of UK is a friend of mine. Strong staying is more beneficial to both UT and UofL

I agree but if he isn't happy and wants to leave then I hope its to Knoxville. Louisville will be fine with TJ as AD.

Bryant coached 3 or 4 more seasons after that, and it was a cigarette lighter not a watch.

:) sounds like you had a hell of a time at the game. That's good old UofL football fans for you. Come for the beer.
