It is interesting to think of the Texas-Florida Muschamp-Strong coaching carousel. IF Strong would have gone to UF. IF Muschamp would have stayed at Texas. Just interesting to think about it.

So, Where does Franklin go? The important thing is he IS going somewhere. PSU? Golden will most likely go there. That means Louisville and Miami come open.

Is Louisville an upgrade from Vanderbilt? Better team, worse conference. I don't see Louisville ever make it to the "playoff" round. So, does Franklin even consider Louisville?

To clarify, they say he has not excepted it as of yet but is expected to in the next day or so.

I don't think he'll go to Louisville, but if Miami comes calling, he needs to go. All the top jobs are locked down for the next 3 years at least unless he's banking on Muschamp getting fired.

I'm hoping the Strong to Texas rumor is true, if for no other reason than I'd prefer not to see him turn up at Florida next year if Muschamp gets canned.

I could see him taking the Louisville job. Franklin has hit the ceiling at Vandy. Butch has owned the state in recruiting and Franklin has to know that he has peaked in Nashville

I really think Strong didn't come to Knoxville because of the brutal schedule.

Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated provides details about the deal:
High ranking Texas official said Texas and Charlie Strong have agreed to terms. Five years, $5 mill per.

Bet Strong is on his way to Austin now
