Studs and slumps

I was impressed for the most part with our D-line and linebackers. They showed up to play and held their own against a really good team. Hurd is going to be a monster for sure and Worley did all he could to stay alive and keep us competitive. Josh Smith has really shown improvement and I'm excited for him. Cam Sutton is a man.

Croom has got to start catching the ball. I really hope he turns it around, but potential only gets you so far. Williams needs to worry more about getting beat than celebrating every time he makes a tackle. He missed some important tackles and looked to have blown that coverage on their first TD. McNeil is still taking terrible angles and missing tackles. But, he did make a great interception to prevent a FG. I'm not sure why Kelly played at the beginning then didn't seem to be in much more the rest of the night. Idk why DY doesn't fair catch it every return. He is never shown to be a threat to take it to the house and he very rarely makes it to the 25 against anyone.

I think our OL will get better as the season progresses and I hope that tonight helped them grow up a lot. But, man was OU having their way with them.

Studs:
Sutton is the "Screen Killer" and the most physical DB since EB

Entire Defense played great! 2 MAs, but otherwise very solid.

Duds:
Croom struggled to catch passes that were catchable. While they would've been difficult catches, others made more difficult catches in the game. I really like Croom and believe he will become very good. He's just going to be the guy that comes on as a JR/SR.

OFFICIALS SUCKED! Numerous holds by OU OLine went uncalled in first half that led to conversions. Not to mention the obvious fumble call they screwed the the pooch on.

Our whole defense played really well. Our line was out weighed 60 lbs across the front and Ok still could not run the ball. That was impressive. Cam was outstanding. Our lbs played really well too. Worley looked good with his accuracy of throws, way better than last year. He made several 3 rd and longs.

Duds: right side oline

You gotta add Worley to the stud list if for no other reason than the heart he showed - he knew he was going to get rocked on almost every pass play but he kept getting up and doing it again. All things considered, he played pretty well and is almost unrecognizable as the guy who started the season last year.
