To be honest, if a kid thinks the school will only recruit him for a position and no one else, then the kid is not very smart.

Of course they'll recruit other players. It's the nature of the beast.

A few thoughts to jump start your Sunday morning.

1. SCARY GOOD: Florida’s already lights out recruiting class just put on a jetpack and blew by the competition with the additions of Shariff Floyd, Ronald Powell and Matt Elam at Saturday’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Florida’s recruiting class, which is being hailed as perhaps the best one assembled by anyone in this decade, features the most valuable player in the Under Armour All-American Game (Dominque Easley) and the most valuable player from the Army game (Powell). If you go by the ESPN rankings, the Gators have the numbers three (Powell), eight (Jonathan Dowling), 11 (Demar Dorsey), 12 (Chris Dunkley), 13 (Elam), 17 (Mack Brown), 22 (Ian Silberman), 32 (Gerald Christian), 33 (Josh Shaw), 41 (Easley) and 48 (Jaylen Watkins) players in the nation. Think about that for a moment, 10 of the top 50 players in the country and it could get better because the Gators could still land the numbers two (Jordan Hicks), four (Seantrel Henderson), 27 (Christian Jones), 35 (Da’Rick Rogers, Georgia commitment) and 50 (Chaz Green) players among others. The Florida Gators are not rebuilding. This is called reload. This is also called a scary good recruiting class.

2. SCARY GOOD, PART II: Okay, if you’re like me, then you’re saying “be still my beating heart.” Well, here’s something else to think about. On campus this weekend are quarterback Andrew Hendrix of Cincinnati Moeller, who is a Notre Dame commit, and Dietrich Riley of La Canada, CA St. Francis, one of the best safeties in the country. I believe the Gators are going to land offensive lineman Morgan Moses (Fork Union Military Academy) and Hicks, who is the best linebacker in the country. Throw in Hendrix and Riley and this might very well be the best recruiting class top to bottom that anyone has signed in the last TWO decades. Reports of Florida’s demise are GREATLY exaggerated.

you guys wear me out. I have a friend who is a gator booster and he passes stuff along to me. He also has inside connections to Vandy, but who cares about that right? I pass the UF stuff on because a lot of the time we go head to head for players and they are our greatest rival imo.

Jackson Jeffcoat canceled his official visit to Florida that was scheduled for Jan. 15, FWIW. I don't have enough posts to start a new thread, and don't even know if this is news-worthy enough around here for that anyway. Anyhow, I think it's good news, as any of his other finalists would be better for us than Florida.
