With Bama's defense this year, has their regression just been a matter of talent? That side of the ball has absolutely regressed, not just this year but also last year. Nowhere near as good as it was during 2009 - 2011.
The real gut punch for Bama was the interception after the awful punt when they had great field position. Kiffin immediately dialed up some slow developing PA pass and gave them the ball right back when they had their foot on their throat. Horrible playcalling.
I would counter that Kiffin's offense put up sufficient points to have won the game had coach smart's defense done their job.Watching SEC network and on the Finebaum show there was Bama fans having a meltdown. And something amazing happened, I have never agreed with a Bama fan until today. They said that Kiffin should not be allowed on the bus. Totally agree.
Buck Fama - Go Vols!
And since UGA also beat Arky who shut out Ole Miss, we blasted them as well, right?
(But we also lost to Indiana and beat Minnesota and Kansas State?)
That's also kind of excusing Blake, though, for throwing a terrible pass on something he should probably have seen wasn't there.
But as OC, Kiffin has to know his players. Asking Sims to move the ball vertically down the field isn't the strength of their offense. He was either too dumb to see or too stubborn to run Henry/Yeldon about 75% of the time and kept asking Sims to throw the ball vertically down the field.
I know they wanted to get the ball to Cooper, but if you can physically dominate their front 7, why not run it? This was one of the worst games I've ever seen him call.
So? It's great to see Bama lose and if you disagree then you're a sh**ty Vols fan. And besides, if it bothers you that much, don't come in this thread and look at all the posts since it's obviously driving you insane for some reason. You need help my friend instead of trying to call everybody out about this.
Even ESPN said afterwards it was a bad pass. Had he put a little more air on it, like he should have, it should have gotten there.
And if Sims doesn't have the ability to do such (which Sims should also know) he should just have thrown it away. It's not like this was 4th down and he had to throw that.
LOL, exactly!
Somehow, Bama losing to OSU and Ole Miss losing to TCU does not make me feel like the Vols lost to either.
Not a fan of transitive properties in FB.
We somehow won 20 games and lost 5 bowl games.
As much criticism as you can direct his way tonight, it is hard to say he "screwed" them given they gave up 42 points. The 85 yard TD run was a backbreaker.
