Try clearing your cache, if you're going back and forth from the test site, that might cause it too.

The old tweets will have to be reformatted. That's what I meant by embed codes. It will probably be a bit before I get to that though, to be honest.

You shouldn't have to add text. You need to be sure it's an image url that ends in .gif or .png or .jpeg etc.
