I really like Butch and hope he can turn things around, but he never admits any Vol coach or player made a mistake. Today's show was more of he same. More "teachable moments" and "learning experiences". Vomit!

He did answer the question as to why the passing game was non-existent. North got hurt.

Make up your damn minds. Do you or do you not want him to throw others under the bus? You seem to b#$#@ and moan regardless. Miserable people.

Anything about this being a resilient team? How about losing being unacceptable or perhaps not tolerated?

It was non-existent before North was hurt.

All the euphemisms are starting to get old. Fans are growing tired of them.

I would say the people who understand how miserable this program was when he got here, and how difficult it will be to rebuild it, are not tired of them at all.

On the other hand, the people who expected us to go 7-5 or 8-4 with the worst depth and some of the worst talent in the SEC? They're probably tired of them because they don't understand the sport of college football.

There is absolutely nothing Butch could say after last night that would satisfy some people on here. I believe Butch is the answer to getting this turned around. We have to give him time ( at least 3 to 4 years) to get his players in here before we can determine anything.

The show has turned into a propaganda reel this year. That's fine by me, but I prefer showing the bad with the good and vice versa.

There's a balance to everything. The constant PR spin is getting stale.

What did you expect him to say? Have you known him to throw another coach or a player under the bus this year?

I simply expected to see the team's play improve so that by week 13 (which is where we are now) you could see tangible evidence that this staff was good at player development, good at teaching fundamental stuff like how to run a route, get open and then actually catch a football, and that the team played solid, disciplined, smart, hard-nosed football.....

I have seen no evidence of any of that. If I did, I honestly wouldn't care what our current record is, I'd take the 4-8 that this team will be after the Kentucky game. That's the disappointing part for me.

It is funny how the the standard for a successful season has morphed as the season has progressed. Some, unrealistic IMO, had 8 wins as possible 7 more realistic, then as the season developed, everybody but KY and Vandy were more talented thus 6-6 was a reasonable expectation. Now 4-5 wins should have been the high water mark.

I don't want him directly criticizing the kids. BTW, what do you think hes doing when he says the only way to correct the current situation is to recruit, recruit, recruit. Hes right by the way, but hes criticizing the players.

I just want to hear him be candid about how poorly the team played and how poorly he and his staff prepared his team to play.

Coach speak, what else can he say? I think he's an average coach, not great but not bad. But fans are hilarious, CBJ makes the same statements that any new coach makes and it's "Butch gets it", "Brick by Brick" and all the other cute statements he's made. 99% of the coaches understand how to build a program and they all have the cute little sayings that the fans want to hear, the question is can he actually do what he says he will do. That won't be answered for at least 3-4 more years. He's had winning teams in other conferences but they weren't the SEC.
