Sunday Night Baseball

Gotta love a sub-three hour game. If this were the Yanquis and Sawk again, the game would be in about the sixth inning right now.

i was just thinking that. I looked at the clock and realized Sportscenter was actually starting on time. Shocking.

also a plus that I didn't have any cops searching through my yard during this game.

Baseball is definitely better without cops in your yard and searchlights in your windows, that's for sure.

The Braves-Reds game was 3:16 this afternoon in spite of there being 21 runs scored. I can't stand these endless four, four-and-a-half hour games. I don't know what the answer is, but something needs to be done to shorten the games some. I know that I'd be able to go to a lot more games here if I could expect to get home by 10-10:30 instead of 11:30-midnight. (Because I sure as hell won't leave a game early.)

I know you already know this, but that post-game traffic is the problem in Atlanta. I watched a complete game, two and a half hour masterpiece by Smoltz back in July '06. My friends and I were very excited about getting to the bars somewhat early, but we sat in traffic for over two hours in downtown ATL. After stopping by the hotel in Vinings, we didn't get to Buckhead until about 1 am, and we were still the only ones in the bar without Masters caps on.

If you plan a similar trip again, let me know ahead of time and I'll give you an alternate route out of there to wherever you're headed. Under no circumstances should you just plow right back up the interstate after a ballgame. There are other ways out of the area that the suburban fans don't know anything about.
