tackling was great. D line was great. Cam Sutton solid. Run more Lane and less Hurd, sorry guys, but Hurd ran soft and timid. Not saying that will always be the case, but it was tonight.. made me wish we had gotten Nick Chubb. More slants to Croom and North. Worley keeper 2-3 more times. great game.

Yeh Hurd has to get some anger in him.

Linebackers looked great. Weatherd, aj, an JRM looked good. Maggitt being back is great. Bates is behind them just waiting and he is looking good. Cherry is coming in soon as well. Things are looking up.

Tackling on the perimeter. The first guy made the tackle or held on to the guy on all but one play tonight. So many times over the last several years simple 3-5 yard passes turn in to 10, 15,20+ yard games because of missed tackles on the outside. I hope we continue the solid tackling on the outside moving forward.

It's close for me between AJ and Worley's performances. I think I give the edge to Worley and the receivers getting into a rhythm. There was a comfort level there among the receivers and you just sensed it. It reached a point where you weren't nervous when Worley threw -- you just expected a catch. The throws were solid overall and portends great things. Just very impressed with the passing/receiving game. For me, it was the best part of the game because it has been too long since I felt that.

Tl;dr: Worley and the receivers getting into a rhythm

We have a lot to be optimistic about going foward. Granted, if there's one sore spot, I didn't like seeing Coleman grabbing for jersey instead of having his hands up...but he was probably half asleep by that point.

D-Line was a pleasant surprise. When we get guys like McKenzie, Tuttle, etc in here it will be absolutely filthy.

Not a sunshine pumper at all.

But....

The defense was amazing at times.

Wr's caught the ball.

UT actually threw the ball to the tight ends.

Hurd wasn't what I hoped he'd be, but there were flashes of it.

Worley actually ran the ball.

Damn the Orange looks good after all these months of no football.

Vanderbilt lost.

UT won. Big.

On offense, Worley did not surprise me. He's good and it should not have surprised anyone. Offensive line needs to get tighter as we continue play. The more that Pig touches the ball, the better we'll be. No turnovers was impressive. The offensive pre-snap penalties can be written off as first game jitters, at this point.

The defense was the surprise for me. The individual plays and the swarming defense was impressive. Hope they can carry this forward throughout the season.

Mine was Worley Bird. Almost 300 yards around 70% completion rate and any bad passing ball went in the stands. Ainge style.:dance2:

Have to agree, but our defense as has been stated already was heads and shoulders above where I thought they would be. Speed Kills!!!!!

After the first 2 touchdowns experiencing that sense of calm that we had ni fear of losing the game. Almost felt like 90's deja vu even though it was jyst USU.
